So how is with a 9 yr old lab and a puppy? I would be afraid to leave the house if I were to get a puppy now out of fear of the destruction I would come back to... Tucker is only five but has been through 2 knee surgeries which kept him quiet for about 2 years so his attitude is much more puppy like then you would expect for a 5 year old.

I think that depends on the older dogs temperment and stuff. When we got Mocha (chocolate lab), Thor (Newf) was 8 1/2 and he didn't seem to care one bit. He was always a big fat lazy lump on a log and the only thing he cared about was food. Mocha on the other hand always had a difficult time adjusting to change. She was 4 when we adopted Dakota (black lab) who was 2 at the time, but was fairly tolerant of him and they eventually became buddies. However, when my mom got Bruno (Newf), Mocha was 8 and was beginning to slow down mainly because of hip dysplasia. It didn't really affect her unless she did a lot of playing or pacing (She was always stressed out). Bruno was only 9 weeks old when my mom got him and he would always try to jump on and wrestle with Mocha though my mom always yelled at him when he did that while not yelling at Mocha if she snapped at the puppy. We had to put Mocha down in July due to a rapid decline from Cushings disease and I don't think she ever like Bruno. I think Mocha was probably the exception rather than the rule though especially for labs.

Basically, if your dog still likes to play a lot and doesn't have to much difficulty with change you should be fine. Just have to make sure to let the older dog know that it is still loved and not to let the puppy become dominant. Like whenever I would go to my moms house, I would always pet Mocha first before saying hi to Bruno.

For example, I check this thread almost every-time I see a new post but, if there were a baby/kid thread I would never visit it. Sorry Dads.
I'm a dad and I like dogs better than kids. I pretty much hate all kids except my own. Love most dogs. Maybe I'm the weird one.

Well in one word. HATE! She hates him and everytime he comes near her she growls at him. My wife and I were hoping she'd warm up to him but, it's not getting any better. Now that he's bigger he's starting to get into things but, for the most part he's a good dog. High strung but, he's a lab puppy so that's to be expected.

I wanted to share a blog post from my wife's webpage that is about our two Boston Terriers' first White Christmas experience. For Howie, this was the first time he's ever seen this much snow (we took Miley on a ski trip once). It was amazing how much snow fell on Christmas day here in north Alabama.

                Here's the link:

Great pics and it looked like great fun for Miley and Howie.
If the snow was any deeper, you might have had to dig to find those two!

You should do a page, you're always posting good photos. Yes she designed it herself. You should get a blogger page. She says they are real customizable too. She also said that second photo of layla is great. Cute pug!

6 months old now. She's found a new hobby of finding a tiny gap in the basement wall to rip out insulation- she doesnt play with it or eat it, she just likes ripping it out and leaving it for me to pick up even after I've checked for any gaps

Cute. You'd think she'd get all kind of irritation in her mouth from ripping out insulation. I mean, there's a reason they tell you to wear gloves when handling that stuff.
