Re: OS Pups Thread!
Callie is thrilled to be photographed here. I rescued her after a hurricane from a Pender County (NC) rescue group a couple years back. Vet says she is mixed with whippet but can't figure out the other breeds. She is small (roughly 20 lbs). Best dog in the world.Attached FilesYNWAComment

Dude was skin and bones when we got him from the rescue league just a couple months ago. I fought to keep his name Joker, but was outvoted by my daughters and wife. So now his name is Sherbert lol......poor kidAttached FilesLast edited by GOBLUE_08; 06-10-2013, 04:56 PM.Comment

Re: OS Pups Thread!
Today was a rough day. I had to say goodbye to my best buddy Butters. I'm just glad that he no longer suffering anymore. I couldn't have asked for a better friend to have by my side, he was the sweetest dog and I'm going to miss him dearly.
Thanks for a great seven years, Butters. It was all too short.

Jeremy,
As an owner of 2 pugs (technically a puggle and purebred pug), I'm sorry for your loss. Can't even begin to imagine your pain with as attached as they are known for getting to their owners. Those pictures are of a happy dog, and you can't ask for more with a pet.

We have two other dogs (one my wife already had when we met and they other we got together), but they're both "momma's dog's". Meaning they stay with her all the time.
Butters was my dog. He was always the one laying beside me when I was watching TV and always crawling in my lap or laying behind me on top of the couch when I was playing video games. He was just such a sweet dog and truly one of a kind. I miss him a lot already, but I know that he isn't in pain anymore and that gives me peace.

Re: OS Pups Thread!
Thanks man. It's hard... Especially living away from home. Butters has been the longest constant in my day-to-day life for the past 7 years. I got him when he was just a puppy and we've been through a lot together (moving cities, different relationships, etc).

It's very hard.
I feel for you and your wife.
"Dog people" know....it's losing a family member.
I still have my first girl Smokey's bed in the back seat of my car...and under it a picture of her. I take it out and put it on my dash every time I drive that vehicle. I've been doing that since the day we lost her...and that was four years ago.
Like you Smokey was my girl. I rescued her from a house fire the first month I got into the F.D. It was like fate........she went everywhere with me...and if I went somewhere without her....people would be puzzled and asked me where she was.
Losing her was very difficult for me...almost to the point of being silly....but that's the way it is.
I know how you feel.
Not much more to say on it really except I'm sorry.

We went to the pound today to check out a puppy that was still 2-3 weeks away from being available for adoption. Ended up bringing these two brothers home.
I didn't have the heart to let them get separated. I'm taking name suggestions now.
My wife has already shot down:
Hall & Oats (although sh's the most open to that one).
Walt & Jesse
Larry & David
And
Marty & Funkhouser

I don't have any suggestions but love the names that've been shot down! This sounds like a job for Matrix.
