    Re: OS Pups Thread!

We lost our Moochie Bear Saturday night. The past week and a half has been a blur and I still can' really wrap my head around it.

If you have multiple pets you probably shouldn't say it, but Moochie was my favorite. He was really sick when we adopted him and we nursed him back to health... we just had a strong bond ever since. Honestly, he was the Prince to my King our household, and could do no wrong in my eyes.

    The Day we adopted them

This is probably my favorite pic of him as a puppy... he had just gotten healthy enough to play and started chasing me around the yard

    The Joy on his face

He was only seven and really thought he would be around a lot longer than this... We love and miss him so much. Life around here just isn't going to be the same.

I'd say the joy on your face in the same pic is just as much as the joy on his face lol

      you guys had fun

It sucks, but in a limited time together you certainly had fun

I'm sorry for your loss, Jeremy.

From the photos, I have no doubt Moochie was well loved by you, and you were well loved by him.

As much as the end sucks - and it really ****ing sucks - the good times we have with them is so worth it.

          Re: OS Pups Thread!

We did a thing this weekend. After Moochie's passing, we've all (me my wife and our three other dogs) been really down. We're certainly not looking to replace Mooch but just figured bringing a young pup into the household would liven everyone up a bit. So without further ado, here is Stewie:

He's a pug/dachshund mix and other than that we don't know too much about him. His foster mom pulled him from the shelter about two weeks ago. They didn't really know anything about his backstory (if someone surrendered him or if he was abandoned, etc.) and they estimated him to be just over a year old (we think he may be a little bit younger than that though). Either way, he's a fun little thing and so far he seems to be a good fit with the rest of our boys.

Looks like our boy Rusty is starting to show signs. Hasn't been his normal self since the weekend.

Collapse twice during his walks. Heavy patting, back legs giving up.

He was fine all last week. Feels like his age is catching up to him.

I really hoped he would make it to his 17th birthday, but it's not looking good.

Gonna take him to vet hospital now.

Edit: Vet is recommending we put our to sleep. Waiting now to brought in to see him before they send him over the bridge.

The last picture I took of him, literally last week.

We'll my bud has crossed the bridge. He was a great dog, and I'm glad I owned him since his birth on Sept. 4th 2003.

He was the last of our cocker family. No more dogs left. After owning dogs for over 20 years, were gonna take a break from ownership.

It's gonna feel real weird without any dogs, but we definitely feel it's for the best right now.

I will continue to check in on this thread to see how everyone's dogs are doing.

Thanks for all the love throughout the years. It's meant a lot.

Here's Rusty's last photo as the doc prepared the solution. And as always, sleeping without a care in the world. That was my boy! We luv u very much bud, and hope you are now with your Mom and Dad in the field.

Thanks for all your love, and making or world so much better!

                    Re: OS Pups Thread!

Half the reason I hate entering this thread. Sometimes people get new pups, but sometimes we have to see them go. I know their lifespan is so much of it that makes this cycle happen so often, but man it is painful even if it isn't your dog.

They bring us so much life, love and joy. I know Rusty did the same for you. I'm so sorry for your loss, Joe.

I really hate to see this Joe. My Siberian husky is getting pretty old now, she’s almost 12 now. I don’t want to imagine the time when she’s no longer around.

We've had Stewie for just over six weeks now. I'm not going to lie. he's wild as hell and we've given him the nickname "monster". His favorite things are eating and biting our fingers... but he can be really sweet too for about 20 minutes each day

He's slowly starting to learn the ways of being a "good boy" though and we're glad to have him.

He managed to survive 18+ years, he was awesome!

My mom and step dad visited about 5 days before his issue happened, he was a good boy and let her pick him up and snuggle in her arms for a bit.

he got really sick really fast after that, it was really hard to see him go out in pain like that, but he had an awesome life and I'm glad he doesn't have to go through the pain he went through at the end anymore
