Re: How will the World End
Actually, the Sun is not sufficiently massive to undergo a supernova explosion.Once the Sun exhausts the hydrogen in its core, it will expand into a red giant and begin fusing helium in its core while hydrogen fusion continues in a shell around the helium fusing core. Once the helium is exhausted in the core, the sun will again expand and begin casting off its outler layers as eventually leaving behind a cooling white dwarf star about the mass of the Earth.
If we are defining World as Human Civilization, then I think it will be a combination of things. These would include but not be limited to ecological catastrophe, depletion of resources, and war.

Re: How will the World End
Here is a list of the possible sequence of events that will lead to the extinction of mankind and the end of the world.
1. Financial collapse followed by panic and the governments around the world declare state of emergency.
2. Tension and famine lead to regional war then civil war.
3. Russia annihilates the United States and Isreal.
4. World War 3 begins and at least 70 percent of mankind will die.
5. The remaining population of humans will be plagued by disease, hunger and violence and gradually die off in the next twenty to thrity years.
6. All humans and animals dead.Comment

Well, it's (supposedly) scientifically proven that someday the sun will burn out, and as it does that it will first expand. If it doesn't first burn up the earth during that process, the planet will then be plunged into ice cold darkness.
Doesn't really sound too appealing.Comment
