Why would anyone punch a greeter at Walmart? Even if you had a horrible shopping day...how did the greeter make it worse?

The greeter could get fired for leaving his post, there is no reason for the greeter to be outside the store.

Obviously you never worked for Walmart. Because if you did, you would know Walmart greeters are also part of the store security and it is their JOB to check people bags and stop them if the security detector goes off and the person continue to walk outside.

So to me it looks like the detector went off and he tried to stop the guy and ask him to show the receipt and the guy refused and punched the guy. When I was working at Walmart I would see people push or slap greeters on a weekly basis when they were told to open the bag and show the receipt.

Man, I read the title and laughed all the way through until I read the article. I thought it was going to be more like a guy walks in, the greeter goes, "Welcome to Wal-Mart, sir," and the guy just flat out levels him!

At that particular Walmart, management didnt stick up for the workers at all. Even was even worse for the cashiers and the people who worked in the electronics department. I worked in the electronic department and customers would say racial slurs EVERY day and management did nothing to stop it. They would only say well obviously you did something wrong to upset them.

So I was like this is BS and left. Like last year during the elections this co worker at the time had on an Obama pin on her day off, she was just there to pick up her check that day and this guy who was buying a tv saw it and called her a N lover and disgrace to the race. And that was in front of 3 assistant managers. They did nothing at all.

Why wouldn't someone contact the Corporate Office in Bentonville and report this sort of management issues? I mean, if those things are occuring and management at the store level is doing nothing to stop it, I'd be contacting higher ups to do something about it.

Oh I tried that for years....corporate didnt give a flying crap and would only say we will look into it. And everytime management found out that somebody told on them, they would cut that person work hours to 12 hours a week.

Oh let me tell you how messed up Walmart is with their biasness. One of the co managers was a weed smoker and slept with several of the female workers who wanted extra hours. Because if you didnt know, 95% of Walmart work force per a store is part time only. But anyway he was buying his weed off of one of the female sales associates that been working there for 6 years. He been with walmart for one year.

He got caught one day by the actual store manager. Now tell me why did they fire the girl but just transfered him to another store still as a co manager ???

Another example.......

Walmart dont believe in sick days PERIOD. You can only take 3 days off in a row. Now this ex co worker of mines had pnemonia, so naturaly she took a week off. The day she came back, they called her into the office and fired her because they said according to Walmart policy you only allowed 3 consective days off and pnuemonia isnt sick enough to warrant more then 3 days off.

Another example......

People in the electronics department all have sales associates on their badge. However we had to stock the shelves during the day, get the tvs down from the bin in the back and carry the tv to the front of the store and put it inside the customer car.

Now you might say where are the stockmen ??? They only had 4 for the entire store and stockmen at walmart were also the cart pushers so therefore they be gathering carts outside 90% of the time.

Another example.........

Walmart dont believe in overtime PERIOD. But yet during the holiday season from october to january, they make you work 10 hour shifts, with no over time pay and just tell you to take an extra 30 minutes during your lunch break.
