But these days, I would be damned if I said I had searched for cheat codes on games since Enter The Matrix. I don't think I've been keen on using anything, partly because I've found the days of sliders and implementing a more realistic product out of what comes in the box. Since then (and since I've grown older), I found the value of earning my way through completing a game, be it a sports or action game, etc. I think part of it had to do with games no longer crediting us for cheating in some fashion, particularly today with achievements and trophies. I'm not saying I would begin cheating again, but I'm saying that's probably what started me down this path of not cheating. I'd also say that OS slightly helped me see the path of realism being more "fun" in a way, rather than just going 162 - 0 in a baseball season.
In fact, I don't even know if games really have codes anymore. Not once did I look and see if there were any codes for GTA IV, even to get a wanted level on me. I'm guessing with online play becoming a big thing in games, they probably omit many codes completely so there isn't any unfairness online.
Did you guys use codes? Do you still? When did you stop, and why? And particularly, do you think OS played any sort of role in the way you play and perceive games now?
