Just a simple question really. And when you began living on your own, was it easier or harder then you thought it would be ? For the 30 and over crowd, what mistakes that you made back then if any that now you laugh and say if I did what I was doing now back then I would be 10 years better off then I am now.

22 came back for 2 months.
Moved into my own apartment.

Mmm...a tricky question... Not proud of it, but I was 30 when I moved away. I was dating my wife (then girlfriend) for about 7-8 months, and she was renting an apartment and was very happy when I moved in.
Haha, would you believe that afterwards we moved 3 times in 5 months?! Is that a record? LOL...but we had reasons. We couldn't stay at the apartment we were living in because the owners were about to renovate it. So we found another apartment and moved there. But the area was crappy and we found ourselves getting depressed living there and we just couldn't take it. So after 2 months we found new tenants to sign the contract and we moved to a better area. During that time my grandmother died and her apartment was available. So after almost 3 months in the apartment we lived in (again, we found other people to sign the contract), we moved to my late grandmother's apartment which was great! We lived there for almost 2 years - until we moved to Canada.My Specs:

From the time I was 18 and in college I haven't lived within 2500 miles of my parents.
I am lucky if I get to see them 3 times a year.Comment

When I was 18, about 6 weeks after graduating high school.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

15. Then I went and lived with my Grandma. Closer to school, so I could sleep in and it was only a block away from my part-time job.Comment

In all honesty I don't count going to college as leaving home. This is why I feel this way if you get kick out of school where will you go live? Also are they paying your college bills? I could be wrong and some might think it is the same as moving out on your own and paying your own bills, but I don't think so.Comment

I lived with my grandma until I was 25. Then I got married and we lived on our own. That was interesting. I was going to school full-time and getting a masters at the same time. So my wife was the bread winner. At that was not fun at all. We almost broke up a bunch of times. I then stop going to school and was going to work with my dad, so it wasn't until my son was born that I went back to school and got a B.S. Degree and year later went back and got my M Div degree.Comment

16.
Much easier because the only thing that really changed was me having to pay rent and as I moved in with a friend it was only about $150 a month.Comment
