    Re: Tips for working out??

The best things I can recommend:
    1) Eat right after you workout
    2) Get plenty of rest
    3) Drink plenty of water (or supplement water mixing sugar-free Crystal Lite with it)
    4) Listen to your body (if you're soar or hurt DON'T push yourself too much)
    5) Stretch everyday (prevent soarness & injuries)
    6) HAVE FUN! Change it up, basketball, running, weights, Wii-Fit, baseball, anything so long as you don't get bored and unmotivated.

I've fought weight problems all my life and just now, after using a good diet I am dropping fat like nothing. I generally try to eat a ratio of 40% protein, 30-40% carbs & 20-30% fat and it's really helped me shed weight in the last year without even having to "diet" or over-do it on cardio.

Not that anyone cares, but I did some sprinting today. Man I AM out of shape. Jogged 9 laps around the gym. Then did 3 sets of suicides and that did about kill me, I was doing them at full sprint. Then I ran baseline to baseline on one side of the court, walked the baseline then ran back down. Think I did 5 laps of that. Then lost in a game of horse to a chick

            Re: Tips for working out??

I would suggest weight lifting also becuase it helps burn fat very fast. When you gain more muscle you burn more fat.

I myself am trying to gain weight. I am at 196 at 6 feet tall trying to get too 220-225. In no way do I want to be a body builder but I want to get a lot bigger than I am right now. I lift 5 days out of 7. My body fat is currently at 12% I am looking to get under at least 10%. I basically lift 60-90 minutes and do cardio about 30-45 minutes after.

Does my goal seems crazy? I would possibly like to achieve it by the time I am 20 and I am 18 right now.

The supplements I am taking are
fish oil 2 at every big meal
I switch off of Nano Vapor and N.O. Loaded (pre-workout)
            War (intra workout)
            Whey protein right after
            Cassien protein before bed.

I am also on a carb cycle.

I also take One a day for men but I wouldn't label that a supplement.

Also another question how much cardio should I really do? I am aware that Nano Vapor has maltodextrin, with that it gives you insulin boosts and can add unwanted fat. How much cardio should I do to keep that off?

6'2 170? You must be "skinny fat" or something.

                Damn!

                I'm 6-3 212 haha and I look pretty thin

I'm not fat lol. I'm not trying to lose weight, I'm trying to get in basketball/football shape and get back some of the speed I had back in the day

I'm gonna time myself in the 40 today see where I stand. I felt like I was flying yesterday, so I was probably in the 5.5 range

6'2" What are you trying to do then? I would build some muscle if I was you man. That is crazy at 6'2" and being 170.

Honestly, unless you just started working out very recently, that's going to be pretty damn difficult.

220-225 on a 6 foot frame with <10% body fat is pretty close to "body builder." Without steroids, it'll be pretty difficult.

Mannnn haha. I really really want to get there. I have been told by everyone that It is literally impossible. But I am going to push my hardest for sure and strive for that goal anyways. I've been lifting for almost 6 months. I lifted before this but it wasn't as intense as what I do now.

If you want to be 220, you need to really either do steroids or do a college football workout program.

I recently re-started working out to get into basketball shape, my goal was to be able to dunk again (could do it a little in high school). I'm 6'1 180. What I've been doing is trying to play around 3 times a week and work out my core and legs. lunges, wall sits, just jumping up and touching the rim with the ball.

I took about a 2 weeks off of playing ball over the holidays mainly cause I was busy but kept with the weights. When I played last week I felt a lot lighter on my feet although I lost a bit of stamina.

I've been trying to eat every few hours, a heavy protein snack (cheeses, pb&j sandwiches ect) and making sure I eat heavy asap after I either work out or play ball. My weight has stayed pretty much the same but I feel a lot more fit.

                            Good luck

I'm gonna start eating more. Icould eat pb&j for every meal I like it that much, especially with cheetos

But really I'll probably start lifting here soon. Wanted to be in some kind of cardio shape first. Will probably start doing pushups just to train my arms soon before aswell

I do this push-up, supported dip routine a few times a day.

What I do is do 7 push ups then 7 dips off a chair ( so not free-hanging) then I'll do 6 push ups and 6 dips, down to 5, 4 ,3 ect

you can start with 5 and work up to skys the limit. If you do that and can get some pullups and crunches mixed in you don't even need to go the weight lifting route.
