From what I understand you can switch to whatever service you choose after the chip is implanted. My breeder had signed us up for one service initially (I think AVID) but the vet recommended Home Again so they switched us over.

One good thing about Home Again is they have a 24 hour vet hotline you can call to speak to a vet. It's been useful for us on several occasions since my lab tends to eat things he shouldn't.

LOL My mom's chocolate lab is the opposite, she love her collar. At least when she was younger, if my mom took it off to adjust it, the dog would sit there and nudge at the collar with her nose until my mom put it back on her.

HAHA, my pug is the same way. When I take his collar off he runs around in circles and barks until I put it back on. He also does the same thing with any kind of clothing we put on him.

that's hilarious. my dog will look at the collar and you can tell he's a bit confused, but he's ok with it being off of him.

Awesome. Didn't want to say this earlier but dogs know when they are going to die and usually run off or hide from their owner. I was thinking this might have happened but glad it turned out the way it did.

Sad to say, but very true. Had it happen to 2 of my dogs--one when it got ran over but survived....the other when it got old.

However, CONGRATS on Finding yours Safe and Sound.
