I thought it was hilarious, yet disturbing as well. It was kinda weird that there was no audience reaction at all till the end. I either woulda been cracking up or making a scene probably.

That was amazing, definitely better than your typical boring elementary school play.

I think it's safe to say that it was a bit on the inappropriate side, though...

Outside of the ridiculousness of it all, the first official tell for me was the camera panning left waiting for the kid to come out with his shotgun.

How does a parent watching the play know that the kid is gonna come out from stage left?

                        It's fake.

That being said, it is funny if you get by the inappropriateness of it all, but it's very disturbing to see kids doing that. If it's real, that school and most of its staff should be suspended, if not fired.

edit: Another thing I should add:

Even if it's fake, there's still a level of inappropriateness here, right? Has to be. A play run by a school is mostly fake too. The kids are acting, but they are still performing the scenes. Even if this was staged for camera, the kids had to perform the scenes. There's nothing ok about this no matter the situation. I'm usually very lenient with these sort of things, but there's a line and I think that line is crossed no matter how this was filmed.

I came into it thinking we'd see a cute spoof of the movie with different words... but no...they actually follow the movie. The movie itself was pretty extreme and violent at that point. To see kids do it? I felt bad for them to be honest. They were probably shown the actual scene from the movie and everything too.

I don't approve. I wouldn't let my kid be in something like this if I had a kid. I'm 23 BTW... so not old. I also love the movie Scarface lol. I don't love glorifying that part of our culture to children though.

Maybe it was a teacher that recorded it though i'm sure you're right that it's probably fake.

I agree wholeheartedly with you here. Even if it's fake it's still little kids performing a pretty intense, inappropriate scene.

Well lets look at the facts of the case.....

We have kids(under 10 I assume) performing Scarface on a stage in front of adults...... forget school, what adults approved this. It may be fake that it was a school play, but it isnt fake in the sense someone got these kids to do it. School related or not that just isnt right. I cant wait until the true backstory to this is exposed.

Now even though I feel guilty,

When I was a kid I loved to pretend to play with guns and crap. Just about every boy liked to pretend his water gun, or even that freaking stick he picked up, was a real gun and that he was going Rambo with it.

I see no real problem with it; as long as the kids are smart enough to realize it's just play. I mean, we get children in movies who have to act out worse things than that... So long as they're capable of understanding it's just play/fake.

On the other hand - I'm just as shocked as anyone that something like that would be approved as a school play.
