As someone said, speed for the most part is god given.

You can do some things and there are some programs out there that can help you maximize your potential however.

Situps and 300 meter reps were big for me. As were the resistance running techniques. That being said, this was about 18 years ago, and the techniques have certainly improved.

Do some google searches, there may even be one of those speed camps near where you live. Those are growing in popularity be leaps and bounds.

One way to help increase your sprinting is to simply improve your flexibility.

I am pretty flexible and work out a lot, I have just been incorporating sprints into my long distance work out and working on my form and I think its been working fairly well. This summer I am going to do air alert and a sprinting program with resistance bands so hopefully that helps

If you can find some place that has stairs, sprinting up and down stairs really helps. Also there is a huge difference between sprinting form and long distance running form. Long distance is about that back of foot to front of foot thing. Sprinting is more up on the balls of your feet.

                  Absolutely true!!!

Flexibility and core strength go a long way IMO.

Sorry if I don't believe that you would be the 5th fastest person at the most recent NFL combine.

I guess there's a chance you're all of .01 seconds slower than an NCAA champion sprinter, but it seems unlikely.

You're right there's always a chance that I ran track in South FL in HS and tore my ACL/MCL while wrestling my junior year.

You're mostly looking to increase turnover, these are a few things I've done before

it's always windy here in spring time, so running with a strong wind at your back will help increase turnover, as well as running down a small hill that isn't too steep, but with a fairly good angle...just running on a flat surface to go faster wont do much for you, but sharpening the signal from your brain to your legs by forcing that signal to be faster will help more...

your legs either keep up with your momentum or you fall on your face...***nning a few 500 meters in a workout is also good for middle distance, going 400m between 55-60 seconds depending on your ability....

that may be a little confusing?

yes a little, my 400 is at 57 and my 200 at 27 and i am aiming at like a 52 and a 23 or 24, I understand though that running hills and with wind will help
