You can spend a lot of money for a quality audio system fellas, not necessarily a booming one. I listen to Pink Floyd and Tool a lot in my high quality audio system, and it's hardly booming. Although yeah I do throw in a little sir-mix-a-lot every so often lol

I'm biased toward music. The only accessory I've spent money on for any of my cars has been speakers and a CD player. That's worth it to me.

Putting spoilers, candy paint, plush interior, custom license plates, neon lights... that's a different story. The people I know who do that stuff put all of their money into their car and are slaves to car payments and don't have cash to do anything else. But if someone has a passion for that kind of thing and it makes them happy, then play on.

I don't personally need a new radio. My car was used when I bought it and it didn't have a CD player. Well, it is 2006 (at the time) and CD players weren't needed because I have an IPOD. I can simply use my FM Transmitter.

The sound quality is cool. Nothing special, but that isn't anything I would care to spend $ on.

Regular maintenance forces me to spend enough money on the car as it is. NO need for other "cosmetic" upgrades.

When I implemented my system I specifically chose Boston Acoustics as the speakers and amps due to their reputation for sound quality, not loudness (although it's plenty loud). The best thing about my stereo system is it's crystal clear, seriously it's the best sound I've heard in any system, anywhere. Not the loudest, nor the boomiest, I'll let the 17 year old kids who cruise around have those systems...but mine is pure quality. Combine that with the DVD system and you have quite the movie theater, albeit a tiny screen, heh.

There's more "bad" girls riding in stock cars than ones that are souped up. Besides the possibility of getting a little tail, how does that add to your life? LOL

Lol, it adds nothing. The only thing I may do in the future is tint the windows darker.

The one I had (FM Transmitter) gave terrible sound quality. I just returned the transmitter for a new radio with the IPOD hookup. After the return I think I paid ~$70 including installation.

That's all I need but if cars are your thing, by all means do you.

My FM Transmitter costs no more than 4.99. Works perfectly for me.

There are a lot of things in the world that add absolutely nothing for you...everyone has their different preferences..I wouldn't judge because I'd be amazed if 100% of you don't waste money on something ridiculous, whether it be unnecessary jewelry or camo'd out game controllers and so on. Getting your car "pimped" out is like wanting nice clothes..you want to look your best, you want to give yourself a boost of confidence, and just because you put rims on your car does not mean you are going over the top etc...some people get their boost of confidence/happiness from clothes..some cars...some games..and so on. I am sure you all go to football games etc., it pretty much applies- you can just sit home and get a fine experience there, but you want to add some spice into it by going to the game. Although I am not condoning of course putting neon lights under the car and such. I am just saying little tweaks.

Yeah it's always amazed me at what people term "waste of money". Unless you're a frugal, boring bastard then I can guarantee you that anyone could go into your life and determine you waste money on x, y or z. It's not a waste of money if it makes you happy.

Yeah I bet most of the people saying pimping out your car is a waste of money got a $500 iphone in their pocket, a mac book and a 52" 240hz LCD tv in their house. Or probably driving a car that cost over $30,000.

When one can clearly say a phone is a phone, prepaid phone works just as well. Laptop is a laptop, a compaq works just as good as a mac, a tv is a tv, and a car is a car.

You sir a smart man. You (people in general) may consider "pimping" your car a waste of money, but unless you use a pre paid phone then I can consider your cell phone a waste of money since they do the same basic thing.
