    Re: Dudes and flip flops

Being from South Florida I have a few thoughts about this:

    1. My main "shoes" are a pair of retired Bonefish Flops, which I've had about 6 months now. Paid $70 for these and they're more comfy then my Timberland Slip On Shoes I paid $90 for. Don't get me wrong I love my Timbs, but if it's not snowing or closed shoes are not required I'm probably in the flops.

    2. Any type of "Sandal" that you strap around the back of your ankle or you wear with socks is ********. It just looks dumb, a lot of the younger generation love the Birkenstocks because they're "sport" sandals. This is ******** in it's own right, if you are going hiking you probably want a pair of sneaks, not some strap on sandals. To go along with that, part of the whole theory behind flops is not having to wear socks. If you are wearing socks with your flops you're going to look like a goob. It's not cool, it's not trendy, if you're wearing them with socks for any reason other then you're comfy that way, then you're doing it wrong. You may not care, and I really don't care what others do, I can assure you I'm not alone on this opinion.

    3. Anybody who thinks closed soles should worn by men clearly has never lived in a place where it is >90 degrees half of the year. Most men trim the fingernails and don't think anything about it. Trim your damn toes, while you're at it, wash your stinky ### feet and throw some flops on. Taking care of yourself doesn't make you homosexual/metrosexual/marssexual/venussexual...etc.

        Re: Dudes and flip flops

I would wear flip-flops year round if it wasn't for winter. Ever since I bought a pair of Rainbows I have been sold on flip-flops. It's the most comfortable feeling for my feet...feels like I'm wearing nothing. And I don't pay attention to other guys feet so I have never ran into the problem of being grossed out. My feet aren't that pretty, but I just don't give a you know what.

Mainly because I don't like to wear socks in 80+ degree weather also, I think that most shoes with khaki shorts looks odd but, that's just me. Well, me and just about every female I've ever dated.

            A) Do y'all really care what other people wear that much?
            B) Flip flops or sandals are comfortable as hell in the summer when it's hot as balls out.
            C) This is more an issue of grimy *** dudes not using proper hygiene on their feet and/or dudes with an irrational fear of feet.

There is nothing even close to being gay about flip flops/sandals.

I don't wear thong sandals or whatever ya call them because I think they look weird. I also don't care if other people wear them. I wear slides. Something similar to this.

I live up north and "Man-dals" are generally frowned upon (esp. by females) as "too casual" outside of the gym, beach or poolside...

It's an extrapolaiton on the "no shirt, no shoes, so serivce" thing...

Not only considered a poor fashion option, but not all that hygenic either...

Sneekers, moccasins, dessert boots, heck...even a fairly new pair of Kinsman house shoes are better options...

You sound like my sister. She'd always get on my case if I quiickly slipped a pair of flips on over my socks to take out the trash or get something from the car or whatever.

I've noticed that sandals/flips are quite popular on colleges (at least during the warmer months). I generally just where them inside or if I have to run out for a minute but have no problem whatsoever with guys wearing them. I think those of you who are noticing other guys foot hygiene problems are the ones with problems. WTH are you staring at other guys feet for in the first place?
