I normally don't notice what guys are wearing, much less the shoes on their feet.

          Clearing some things up:
-I didn't mean to insinuate in any way that if you wear flip flops you're gay. Anybody that got that out of my original post, I apologize. "Be a man, wear regular shoes" was me typing without thinking. My bad.

-Regarding "why are you staring at a guy's feet": it's like when you smell something gross and you kind of can't stop smelling it. I want to look away, but I can't. Like a car wreck.

-The whole underlying theme of this thread is probably, and I'm just realizing this now, that feet gross the hell out of me.

It's not too popular here in NY, or else I'm missing something. Yeah I'll see it once in a while during the summer months, but to me it really sticks out to me when it happens.

The only time I wear flip flops is at home, and that's year round. I was never one of those people who could walk around the house barefoot, I feel a lot more comfortable with something on my feet.

As for outside, no way. I feel uncomfortable in flip flops, like something's missing. So it's sneakers year-round for me.

              Re: Dudes and flip flops

Living in Florida, flip flops are a must. When I'm not at work, I probably wear my flip flops like 90% of the time. Plenty of people here wear them practically all the time. I don't see what the problem would be...?

I can't remember ever catching myself looking at another dude's feet, no matter how funky they might look. Though it wouldn't bother me if I caught a glimpse of an ugly pair of feet. I really couldn't care less.

Feet don't gross me out (unless they are just downright nasty), but I do know people that literally freak out if you put your feet by them. So you are not alone. Take it one step at a time and maybe you will conquer your distaste.

Man people are bothered by really, really stupid and unimportant things.

A man wearing sandals... Wow... Big whoop.

I know a lot of people on here wear sports jerseys around; and I know a lot people who think that's idiotic too.

People like to wear what they like to wear. Who gives a crap? Why should it bother you?

I think it's a regional thing. Down south in the hotter states, you'll see them everywhere. I lived in Indy for 15 years and occasionally saw guys wearing them, but not that much; always girls though. Moved down here to Florida last summer and damn near every single person was wearing flip flops.

Yeah it has to be a regional thing. Because in Chicago I only seen females wearing flip flops or sandals. All the dudes were wearing air force ones or timberlands. Yeah you read it right, dudes in the Chi wear timbs even during the summer.

Just like you don't see dudes wearing skinny jeans in chicago either.

Down in Texas I didn't know anyone who didn't own a pair of flip flops, personally I've had like 6 pair.

Michigan fellow here. Summer time is flip flop time for me. Everywhere except for work and the basketball court. . .and sometimes biking. . .and running. Other than that, it's all flip flops. They're fun, they're easy, they're breezy, they flip and they flop. . .they've got it all.

All I have to say is if you think that wearing flip-flops or whatever makes one "moist" "borderline gay" or "gay"...I dare you to say that to someone like Chuck Lidell.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

My thoughts exactly. I always knew women would look at each other and judge the other by what they were wearing but never knew it happened among men, especially with sandals. Good thing I don't care what others think because it might make me change my choice on footwear when I want to be nice in comfortable in a situation that I am able to wear them...

I also learned in this thread that apparently the term metrosexual has all of a sudden been replaced with moist?

Edit: Also, out of curiosity, could someone differentiate for me the difference between flip flops and sandals as they are being refereed to in this thread? I've always been a little confused.

Funny story, I was at a local hockey game and someone was walking down the stairs with a beer, and told me I had nice feet and my sandals looked cute. He quickly found a seat in the first row after being pushed down the rest of the way down the steps..
