    DVD: Last winter

CD: No clue at all. It's been probably 4 years now. I WAS gonna buy Raheem DeVaugn's new CD but for the life of me I can't find it here.

      Last movie was The Hangover.

Haven't bought a CD in a while...the last one might have been Between the Buried and Me's new one. If I had more money to spend I would definitely be buying CDs. When I had the money, I would buy a couple albums every week or two weeks. I always buy the CDs of the bands and artists that I really like. The next two albums I'll buy are Sage Francis and The Black Keys this month.

Re: When Was The Last Time U Bought A CD Or Movie?

Bought a movie last week, but only paid $4. I really don't buy DVD's because like someone else said they just sit on a shelf. I only buy them if they're cheap, honestly I think that's the 3rd movie I've ever bought(one I bought for a school project two years ago and never bother with it and it's still sitting in it's wrapping on my floor).

I bought a cd a few weeks ago too. But, I usually only buy a cd every 4-6 months. There was one exception when I bought the new our lady peace and chevelle cd's pretty close to each other last year. I've been really lucky with cd's my whole life, I think there's been one that I've bought where I didn't end up loving the cd.

Last CD I bought was in February and I can't remember the last time I bought a movie. It's been a LONG time.

I can't remember. I haven't bought a CD in at least 5 years. I haven't bought a movie, like off DVD, in probably 5 years as well. I have bought a couple movies off Xbox Live though.

Last CD I bought was Hot Fuss by the Killers back when it came out. Now I strictly buy MP3's. Having tons of CD's in the car and then worrying about scratches and all the nonsense is a huge reason for me. That and I don't have to shell out $$ to only hear one song on an otherwise garbage album.

Movies I buy all the time, although I'm likely going to stop. They're all collecting dust and I never watch them after the first time. I'll always buy TV series and cartoons from the childhood though. I really need to get more of Batman: TAS.

I bought a cd a few months ago because the album was nowhere to be found online and is out of print. I always buy movies so it's not worth bringing up the last time I bought one.

If I only bought cd's I wouldn't be able to afford listening to music. I support people I like by buying tickets to shows or merchandise. I have bought an album from a rapper that I really liked but that was because he was distributing it himself so all the money was going to him.

I'm more than happy to spend my money on artists and movies that I like. I like to think that in a very tiny, microscopic way, I'm supporting them and sending a message like "Hey, I like that. Make more of it."
There are other ways of making money for these artists. They need to adapt. There is nothing they can do about it, so they must do something new/different. There are plenty of other ways for artists to make money.

I'm not his biggest fan, but look 50 Cent. The man is a HELL of entrepreneur. He realizes the music industry is changing because of illegal downloads and also sees that the definition of a musical artist is changing. He's invested in movies, video games, books... hell, even vitamin water. He's finding other ways to make money, so can the other artists.

On topic, I think I bought Thursday's "Full Collapse" last. That released in 2001.

I'm not much of a movie buyer, not because I've got alternate ways of obtaining them, but because I pretty much just need to buy them one time. I probably bought Friday Night Lights last when it came out on DVD.

Disagree. They shouldn't have to "adapt" because people are stealing their music. If I run a Best Buy and there's a shoplifting spree, I don't think of alternative ways to make money and just let people take whatever they want, I find a way to stop it. I'm not exactly sure how you put a lid on illegal downloading, though.

I haven't bought a movie in a while, but the last DVD I bought was The Wire Complete Series last February. I use Netflix for the rest of my movies since I only watch them once.

It's been forever since a bought a CD though. I think it might have been Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory.

I don't buy music anymore either. I still buy dvd's and blu-rays when I see a classic corny movie sitting on the sale shelf @ WalMart. Last dvd I bought was Slackers a few months ago for $7.

WeAreAllWitnesses - adapt or die, it's not about what they shouldn't have to do or not really. Of course it's wrong that people are stealing music but to try to figure out how to prosecute fans rather than try to work with them to get their music to them may mean the artist is on a moral high ground but in the business world it's about who gets paid, not who has the most ethics and morality.

As for me I just bought Fight Club on Blu-ray. I haven't bought a music CD since Tool 10000 days came out. And guess what, that's a must buy considering the art work and everything that Maynard had in there. See instead of fighting with his fans he came up with a valid reason to go buy the CD instead of just pirating it. That's called being smart..
