Re: Taco Bell Drive Thru gives customer $2000 instead of a burrito
Taco Bell is a giant corporation that is in the pocket of PepsiCo. A measly $2000 is literally NOTHING to them. Plus, I worked for Taco Bell as a teenager for several months for practically slave wages. So yeah, I'd keep every penny of it and wouldn't feel the slightest bit of guilt about it either.Comment

Re: Taco Bell Drive Thru gives customer $2000 instead of a burrito
Wrong. You don't have to prove intent for that. If a bank accidentally deposits money in your bank and you knowingly use it/remove it/dont report it, it constitutes larceny.
You'd have a very hard time proving that you had no idea the money wasn't yours in the first place.
penal law for larceny.
By acquiring lost property.
A person acquires lost property when he exercises control over
property of another which he knows to have been lost or mislaid, or to
have been delivered under a mistake as to the identity of the recipient
or the nature or amount of the property, without taking reasonable
measures to return such property to the owner;Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Re: Taco Bell Drive Thru gives customer $2000 instead of a burrito
I'd give it back for many reasons...
1. So that person in the drive thru wouldn't lose their jobs.
2. It's stealing no way else to put it, and I'm not a thief.
3. The man upstairs knows, and I'm scared of him more than the police.
4. Because morality says," it's the right thing to do".
5. Nothing good will come of it, for you or the other person. You'll get punished some kind of way in the end.Comment

A Taco Bell probably brings in $5,000-$8,000 a week. It's a lot of moneyComment

Re: Taco Bell Drive Thru gives customer $2000 instead of a burrito
I would return it. I have been given too much money back from fast food restaurants before and returned it. Wasn't charged for food that I ordered and told the waiter about it. Just the right thing to do.Comment
