mgoblue - i did it about once a week, pretty much about how i drink when i work. i really don't understand how anyone can become an alcoholic. the drinking is a lot of work IMO...buying all the booze, then drinking it (the fun part), then the cleanup, the hangover, etc....it seems there is a real commitment involved there. I just enjoy it once a week. Kind of like having company over, it's fun but not all the time.
Do you have a drink each day after work?

Re: Do you have a drink each day after work?
Beer cans are a lot of work, but it is pretty easy to be an alcoholic if you are dealing with liquor. Honestly my dad is one, but not the way you would think. He is highly functional and successful at what he does, so him being an alcoholic has positively influenced my view of alcoholism. I catch myself thinking 'If he can do it, and his life is great, why can't I?' And I do enjoy drinking.mgoblue - i did it about once a week, pretty much about how i drink when i work. i really don't understand how anyone can become an alcoholic. the drinking is a lot of work IMO...buying all the booze, then drinking it (the fun part), then the cleanup, the hangover, etc....it seems there is a real commitment involved there. Also, I am glad to see that you feel that way too about being drunk you said something to the effect of "It is nice for your brain to slow down a little for once." I tried to explain that to a friend awhile ago and she looked at me like I was crazy lol
Also alcohol prices and availability vary a lot by state. A 24 pack of the cheapest beer at Wal Mart goes for 13$ and 40's are illegal here, as are 30 packs and liquor that is over 151 proof. (Florida)Comment

Yea, that is the thing. But he's my old man, not like I can tell him that. Doesn't want to be lectured by his son and its not like his wife doesn't remind him enough already lolComment

Man I have to remove my automatic subscription to this thread. Every time I see it my list I think "mmmm I'd like a drink right about now".

Re: Do you have a drink each day after work?
This is my once a week...I got off early today...Now I'm drinking some Southern Comfort. The days at work and gym can be very draining. It's like 4PM but nobody is drinking tonight because it's Sunday...Might as well have a few.mgoblue - i did it about once a week, pretty much about how i drink when i work. i really don't understand how anyone can become an alcoholic. the drinking is a lot of work IMO...buying all the booze, then drinking it (the fun part), then the cleanup, the hangover, etc....it seems there is a real commitment involved there. Re: Do you have a drink each day after work?
I had a mouse die in my wall one time, the smell was there for months and nothing we could do about it. The Landlord, didn't want to cut the wall open. It was really bad. I think I had a drink every night that month.Originally posted by JdurgMan, I'm going to need a LOT more of that bacon-bourbon. Woke up this morning, stepped out of bed and my foot had some bruises on the right side and my ankle is killing me. Must have twisted it in the blankets while I slept. Dammit. So that might be a setback. Then, when I got home from work, I went upstairs to the bedroom and the smell of rotting mouse flesh was back. Sounds like another one went up there and died. Uggh. A few weeks of dealing with that now. Time to get more FeBreeze. Heh. Not sure I want to be playing in my weekly card game tonight. lol.

Wow - 40 ounces are illegal in Florida? I'm crossing that off my list of states I would live in (along with california and michigan)!Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Yeah, they sell quart bottles (32 oz.) instead of 40 oz. bottles in Florida. It doesn't matter to me anyway though because any beer that comes in either size bottle is pure garbage IMO.Comment
