Physicals I consider that part of the process.

Unless you out of shape or over weight for your height, you have nothing to worry about. Just prepare to be bored. They don't allow cell phones, ipods or none of that stuff when you take your physical.

So it it just spending half the day taking tests, filling out a crap load of paper work and WAITING.

Were you in the Army or in the military? How were the experiences?

Army......experiences vary depending on what you choose for your MOS and what base you get assigned to. I was 18 Bravo, so therefore my experiences will be greatly different then your average military person.

Once you get out of boot camp and specialized schooling for whatever mos you choose, it becomes just like a regular job really, just with exercise thrown in.

The base and CO you assigned to will determine how fun or boring it can be. Some bases have no kind of entertainment value at all off base, and some bases have a TON of fun stuff you can do off base.

Ripcity, what is your MOS or what are you looking at?

Congrats on Joining. Here are a couple tips:

In Basic Training, unless you plan on being the best soldier there, don't volunteer for anything. Stay Completely under the radar. If you Keep your mouth shut and don't fall out on runs, you will be made in the shade.

When you get to your unit, forget everything I said about Basic. Be overly respectful, be ready to learn, Volunteer for everything, and just remember: as a private, you are nothing. The Veteran soldiers will teach you everything you need to learn, Even if they are not a NCO, you will behoove yourself by being respectful and listening. If you keep that in mind, you will do fine.

Yeah I'm in pretty good shape so I won't fall out. I run close to 20 miles each week. My problem will be mentally.
