Big Interview tomorrow - any advice appreciated.

This is big for me. I'm in TV/Film and have never had a great job in my life. I'm good at what I do though, but I don't get a lot of interviews because I just get lost in the computers (online submissions not allowed to call) and I'm convinced most of the time my resume isn't read.

I'll be there with 2 guys - The head honcho and my immediate boss.

So...any tips, advice, anything you interview vets have to say is appreciated. I really want to nail this badly.

Just relax and realize it is just a job they come and go. So if you just be relaxed and just remember that these people have been in the same seat before some time in their life. I love job interviews. I remember I used to go interviews for jobs, I didn't even want, just so I can wow them at the interview. The funniest one was building sheds, had no training at all. Nailed the interview, and quit my first day!

I'm having a bit of a debate with myself though over being 100% myself or not. See I have a sense of humour and usually talk to people in a relaxed way, meaning it's not the most "professional" ... I'm also not totally sure how long I want my answers to be.

So like when they say "what do you bring to the table" I'm not sure how short to keep it.

ps. that's funny, but it's also pretty damn weird.

Being relaxed is different then being yourself. You know what it is to be professional. So when you are taking the interview, just remember they all been in that seat before and they are only human too. Answer the question the best you can and if you have to take a deep breathe before you answer them. Most likely they are going to see how you handle certain issues that relate to the job.

Don't give this long answers. They have a list of questions most likely, so they want to have you answer them all. And most likely you will only be in there for about 20-30 minutes, so they want you to answer the question precise and some what fast.

            Ok thanks.

I just hope their in good moods. If they like me, it'll be a lock, if one of them is sir grumps a lot, that could give me problems. That's my only worry that I have no control over and that could really screw me up.

Minor problems are that I will be sweaty after being stuck in traffic with my no AC car, and I probably won't get a great sleep tonight.

Have questions for them. If you can engage them in a conversation at some point during the interview (usually near the end) where you ask them some intelligent questions and get them talking 'with' you rather than 'at' you, it's usually a good thing. Bosses love to hear themselves talk anyways.

Don't forget to tell them you want the job and you'd like to work for them...that is if you actually want to. Sometimes having some passion for the job and saying so can set you apart.

Whether it goes well or poorly, learn from it. Write down or make mental notes right after on what you did well and where you struggled. If you wait more than a few days, you'll forget the details.

Just be yourself and relax. I always lived by the mindset that if it's meant to to be, it will happen. If they don't accept u being yourself, it wasn't meant to happen for you there. If they accept u being phony, then that's a facade you will have to carry on the duration of your employment.

Relax and be professional. Don't be fake, but be the ideal employee. Get there 5-10 minutes early. Always have an answer for the "What would you say is a weakness of yours?" which usually is the follow-up question to the "What would you say your strengths are?"

Always go in with 1-2 questions for them, but not something that you should already know (since you're interested in working for them and did your homework).

                  Good luck

Engage yourself in the conversation and seem interested to what they are asking and what you are asking them. Don't pour it too heavy though...Because they may think you are a nut case.

Yep, that one of your weakness is a big one. You don't want to say things like I steal and I am always late to work. Or I procrastinate. That is why you want to make one that makes you look like you are not perfect, but you are always trying to get better. I always use the one of I have a hard time saying 'No at work" That one usually looks pretty good.
