For some people it is an ego booster. That like to brag that they have 300 plus friends on their social networking friends list. Some people actually think number of friends on your friends list = hot sexy you look

Re: Social Network sites addiction
I go on a few times a day. If I'm procrastinating on a paper or something, than I might check it a lot more than that. But I usually don't spend much of my free time on it.
I didn't really know there's a lot of people who's facebook friends are mostly people they don't know. Seems strange to me.
And twitter I never really used.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Social Network sites addiction
The first social networking site I joined was Blackplanet. I used to send random chicks notes and hook up with them when I got bored. Soon, it began to get lame, so I stopped logging on there. 2000-2005
I then joined Facebook at the end of 2004 when one of my friends from college asked me to join. I registered, and for months, she was the only friend of mine due to inactivity. I guess boredom set in and I would start searching for people I knew while poking random chicks I didn't know. Soon after, Facebook allowed EVERYONE to join, so my friendlist has ballooned to about 190 as of today. I might respond to a status, I'll update my own like every week or so (usually a random thought) or I'll play Uno. 2004-present
I joined Myspace in 2005. Myspace was similar to Blackplanet for me in that I would get on there when I was bored and message random chicks. Only difference is that on Myspace, the chicks hardly ever responded, or they would act saditty. I closed my account a few months ago because I never logged on there. 2005-2010Comment

Facebook poker killed lots of hours for me last semester. I usually had a 1.5 hour break between one of my classes and I didn't want to waste the gas to go home.Comment

Re: Social Network sites addiction
Yeah i'm on Twitter all the time. Just randomly tweeting whatever and following about 100 people. (and i got 50 ollowers of my own. HOT DAMN). I use facebook, but nowhere near as much as twitter, plus i just use it to keep in contact with most my friends. My wife is on both about as much as i am as well.
I deleted my myspace and all the stupid bright glittering gifs and dumb music a while ago.HELLO BROOKYLN.
