It is just a fad in the USA. No way will PETA allow this to be a year round, nationwide food item. Same way shark, dolphin and whale meat is frowned upon and banned in most states, this lion burger fad will die down soon enough.

I mean honestly yeah the guy had good intentions of introducing the local dishes that south africans eat during the world cup, to get into the spirit of it. But he should have known how big of an animal lover most americans are.

I mean literally I know people who spend more money on their dogs and cats then they do their own kids.

So will lettuce, if it's not replenished. Apparently deer are sex machines, so plenty to go around.

Yeah, deer are usually overpopulated, not underpopulated. We worry more about thinning the herd, not extinction.

I also agree on PETA. I'm a big animal lover, but PETA is just a bunch of crazy, extremist whack jobs IMO.

If this is legal, and not impacting the numbers of the Lions (it's not like Lions in the midwest are going to thrive and take hold lol) I don't really have a problem with it. No desire to try it myself though, that's for sure.

I couldn't eat a kitten either, but don't think I could eat a lion or other cat family animal. I just think they're so awesome that I wouldn't want to do it. Watch a lion, tiger, or cougar take down a gazelle, that ish is crazy!
