Good luck with that........I hated CIS, way too much lab work, way too much coding. Don't ever get fun until you start getting into C++, but you don't learn that until your junior & senior year.

Now far as me......I don't know, graphic design probably.

Healthcare field is where it is at though. They are ALWAYS hiring in that field EVERYWHERE. Too bad I don't care for that though, can't stand hospitals & needles.

The thought of getting someone else's blood on me skeeves me out. *shudders*

I could never ever be a doctor.

oh i could...blood doesn't matter. It's the poop I couldn't handle. There is too much poo in healthcare!

I'm applying to college next year and I'll be going into an undergraduate business program somewhere, I'll probably do some sort of finance since I am good with numbers. Business probably isn't the best field right now, but I'm not gonna make a life decision based on the current economy.

I'll probably be on pre-law track also in case I want to pursue that later on.

I wish I would have either stuck with Mechanical Engineering or started as an Accounting major.

I have 2 friends who have accounting degrees. They're both not using that earned degree, both back in college again lol

I would have liked to stick through with architecture

I would say a Male Nurse mainly because there is a very high demand for Nurses right now no matter what.

Re: If you could go to school for anything right now...

I have a degree in Recreation and Tourism Management. Sounds kind of stupid, but I got a good education from some of the top people in the field. You get out of it what you put into your school work, I suppose. Job opportunities for me would be working with kids sports leagues for the city or the YMCA or other private leagues, year round camps, local community centers, etc...or working with hotels, city/county/state Visitor Bureaus....minor league and professional sports teams....college athletic departments...etc.

The part I screwed up was that I finished my first 2 years of undergrad with a GPA around 2.3. Basically I couldn't figure out what I wanted my major to be, wasn't enjoying the school or social atmosphere, got lazy and stopped going to classes that didn't interest me and instead of taking them off my schedule, just failed them to stay a "full time" student and stay on parents insurance. I didn't get the memo that this was going to screw me over so badly.

Now I have this degree, which will do me well if I can get lucky and find the perfect job to come along......but so far no luck. I want to go back to school right now but my GPA (2.5) isn't going to get me into any graduate programs and I didn't develop close relationships with any teachers even in the classes I did really well in so no good recommendations.

Going back for a new major (business something, probably, because I could finish in 3 semesters I think since I started out there orginally and passed a bunch of the classes, almost had a minor) might be kind of stupid to have 2 separate Bachelor's degrees.....but at the same time it would give me a chance to make really good grades (something I wasnt ready to do until I got older), create relationships with teachers and make good contacts, as well as enjoy the life of a student just a little bit more (using the gym, pretty girls, athletic events). I graduated the first time last December and I'm 23 years old now. Unfortunately going back for something like physical therapy, education, engineering, etc isn't realistic because it would take me another 4 full years probably.

Anyway, thats my story. My advice to those about to go through college.....make good grades, develop relationships with your teachers especially in your major, land a good internship or two, and make sure you KNOW what you are doing is what you want to do. Otherwise take some time off, school will always be there. Looking back I just wasn't ready at 18, or didn't realize how some of my choices would effect me down the line.

                          cliff notes:
                          -got degree in Rec/Tourism Management
                          -didn't have great GPA
                          -can't find job yet
-want to go to Grad school but GPA holding back
-thinking of another degree or ways to do grad school

Well I live in one of the biggest banking cities in the country, and I have an inside track to big jobs, so I am not worried about that haha

FYC which was another mistake. So then I couldn't get into the Business program after freshman year because didn't have 3.0 GPA. Would have been a lock out of high school. Settled for PRT Management after 2 years just to get it over with.
