Yeah, they just changed that a couple of years ago too, it was once a 2.5 got you in. That's one thing that screwed me before I transferred over to UNCC. I had a 2.8 GPA.

I know some people going into the First Year College Program this year at NC State. Fortunately, I have my mind made up as far as what I want to do, I think.

Although, things change, so I can't say for sure that I'll be graduating with a B.S. in Meteorology in four years.

I know one person going for a biology major, which is the only person I know who is going to be in the Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS) Department with me.

My class schedule is going to be interesting with a full schedule on Monday and one whole class on Friday.

I am an Electrical Engineering major and I would recommend that to the O.P.
I guess any engineering, science or mathematic degree is cool. You gotta be serious about college though.

Superjames, I recommend getting to know your teachers, I know a lot of people who didn't do that then when a grade was close they didn't get the benefit of the doubt. That and be careful around Fountain, if you don't know what I mean you will soon enough haha

Do you go to the University of Minnesota? My dad earned his doctorate there way back when.

I have a degree in Business with a focus in restaurant management... and I wish I would have just stuck with being a chef all along (hence my username)

This is what I'm going back to school for. The program is 2 years and you come out making 70K. After that, I will work for a year and go back to get my Master's in Nurse Anesthesia get my CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) license and that's where the big bucks start rolling in.

So that's my 5 year plan. If everything works out, I'll be 31 and sitting in a pretty good place.

I AM a chef (certified) and would still love to go back and go to an actual culinary academy. I came up through the school of hard knocks I started as a dishwasher and trained under cooks and chefs and took a few classes at CC to become a certified chef. I litterally worked my way up to the Executive Chef position.

If I could have afforded it though I would have gone to school for it.

As it is though I trained under 14 Certified Executive Chefs 3 Certified Sous Chefs and countless cooks and line cooks in 7 different styles of kitchens in the form of Hotels, Country Clubs, Steakhouses, Bistros, etc.. So I have nothing to complain about.

If I didn't take film-making last year I would have chosen game design. Either way I'd be happy so whatever...maybe later in life if I hit the big time lol I'll take it for kicks and make my own movie-game tie-ins lol.

I'm a big in to the culinary delights too, so chef school would be good to, as would sommelier courses.

and I've already flown a plan and a chopper, so eventually I'll probably get a license, so that counts as school I guess too.

Honestly if i had the choice to go back and do it all over again i might even consider doing a trade rather than going to school. I studied business and later audiology and have done very well for myself out of it but quality tradesmen make big money and they seem to be in ridiculously high demand at the moment. I'd love to be a builder, just the "power" to change anything about your house etc that you don't like would be a pretty cool skill to have.

I think I'd do ScoobySnax plan of being a male nurse and then further that.

I currently have:

Associate's in Computer Networking
Bacherlor's in Systems Design and Integration
Graduate Certificate in Software Engineering

I work in tech support :/ (Albeit, business integration software, but still..)

I love to cook but I don't have the time to work myself to the top as a chef..
