E-Cigs..anyone tried one? After doing some reading they sound interesting, and as a smoker it sounds like a healthier alternative. The problem is information overload...there's a lot out there.

I'd like to know this too. They're definitely intriguing.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: E-Cigs..anyone tried one?

I just ordered this one http://www.cloud9smoking.com/

The cloud 9 had great reviews. I did extensive searching on reviews of blu, cloud 9, volcano and a couple other higher end models. Cloud 9 and blu were the two best reviewed for the price. But the problem with blu is that they don't "look" like a smoke. So you will be asked over and over and over what it is and you will have to explain yourself OFTEN about it. The carry on charge case in nice also. but the ultimate thing that turned me off to blu is the way the atomizer works. It is a funky design and leads to you spending more money on messed up atomizers. But the cloud 9 version looks like a real smoke and has a much easier on the wallet design for both refilling and atomizers that are enclosed so they don't get damaged.

I should have my cloud 9 in today or tomorrow so i will let you guys know how it is.

I don't smoke much, maybe a cig every 2 weeks are so. But I wanted a option to be able to smoke with the guys when we hanging out drinking and not harm my body. This was a good cheap option.

Ohhh and cloud 9 is a american based company so you are keeping the money here and you get your goods faster. I would not purchase any over seas models. I heard horror stories of models that just flat out don't work and are more of a money pit then smoking regular cigs.

Also the cloud 9 cig, a bottle of refill liquid is supposed to last a pack a day smoker a month. So that little bottle for 20 bucks will last my *** about a year lol. WAY cheaper!Last edited by Phobia; 07-21-2010, 02:37 PM.Comment

 Re: E-Cigs..anyone tried one?

I think you might be confused. This is not a "quit" smoking thing. This is a vaporizing cig. It is a safer means of smoking that is 10000s of chemicals less than a traditional cig. It is basically made so people who enjoy smoking but don't want to smoke for the health risks can smoke and not harm there body.

With the way cigs are going. They will be banned at some point and this will be the means of how it will be done. It will remain a much healthier option and much cheaper.Last edited by Phobia; 07-21-2010, 02:42 PM.Comment

I've tried it. It helps, but wont help you quit 100%. Use this with the patch and it makes quitting 10 times easier.Comment

 Re: E-Cigs..anyone tried one?

Click that link I posted. it has a video explaining it. There is nicotine, that is the only chemical being vaped. Pretty great idea for people who enjoy smoking but don't wanna have the health issues that come along with it.

Pretty much you get the same "feeling" from smoking one of these. but without the negatives. such as smokers breath, smelly items, stained teeth, and any health issues.Comment

Well I know it isn't meant for people who trying to quit. However if you are a heavy smoker or person who smoked for decades, like my wife, to her she rather have the real thing.Comment

 Re: E-Cigs..anyone tried one?

Yea i guess so. I think as technology advances things such as this are nothing but a step in the right direction. If she would of "started" smoking with one of these, like people might 10 years from now. Then that is all she would of known.

I am not a heavy smoker and mainly smoke when I am at the bar having a drink or if we got a bunch of the guys over for UFC nights and such. So this is a good way for me to have a smoke with everyone else but not harm my body. Plus when I get a craving for one when i am drinking this is the perfect solution.

Just keep it charged in the house. If I have people over and we drinking. Boom pull it out and smoke with everyone else. For 60 bucks for the starter kit is cheaper than a carton. Then 20 bucks for the refill liquid and I can "smoke" for hardly nothing at all.Last edited by Phobia; 07-21-2010, 03:16 PM.Comment

 Re: E-Cigs..anyone tried one?

Man I will tell you, nothing is more frightening then being on a road trip with a woman who is craving cigerattes and all you got is an e-cig and the next rest area is not for another 20 miles

I was pedal to the metal down that highway hurrying to get to that rest area. It was like pms time 100

Ever since that day, I made sure if we were going somewhere that it was at least 1 spare pack of cigs in the car. Just in case she lost her pack or left it somewhere.......which she is forever leaving her pack somewhere.Comment

Heh, too bad you can't stick other things in there and use it as a normal vaporizer... that would be especially nice.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

 Re: E-Cigs..anyone tried one?

I bought one today....a Riva model.

 Check out this forum: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/

It's independent and has some great tips and info. There's a lot to learn, but I really believe this could be a great stop smoking tool. To the poster that said he needed patches as well...that's prolly because you didn't get a strong enough nicotine juice. There's a lot of discussion from people about making sure you use different strengths to find what works for you.Steam: BahnzoComment

 Re: E-Cigs..anyone tried one?

That's not quite true. It varies with different brands of liquid and strengths, but the general rule I've read is that a 30ml bottle is about the same as a carton of smokes. Again it depends on the strength of the juice as well...if you get 12mg juice you might use more of it than if you buy 24mg.

I personally would've looked around a bit more before buying the cloud9. At $70 it's pretty expensive and you could've gotten the Joye 510 (which is what the cloud9 is a copy of) for half the price. Their juice is also slightly overpriced. Check the forum I posted above, you'll find much better deals and reviews there than anyplace else I looked.Steam: BahnzoComment
