I got my E-Cig in the mail this morning.......

12 hours now and not one cig....and so far no craving either...simply amazing.

Interesting. I might have to give this a try. Like some of you I enjoy smoking and being in the military it has become a habit but Im quitting but this seems to be an alright alternative.

I got in my Cloud 9 model in last week. I smoked on it all weekend and little bit this week. It is wonderful. Completely eliminates cravings and feels exactly like real smoking. Taste is similar but different. Almost a "cleaner" taste without all the tar.

Only thing different with E-cigs that I had to get use to. The cig must never be titled up, because the E-liquid will dip into your mouth. Also the strength in which you take a drag is different. Slightly less of a pull gets you just as much smoke. But dragging on it to hard will pull E-liquid into your mouth.

All in all it has a very small learning curve. But I am LOVING it over real smoking. Plus I just take it along where ever I go and nothing else required. Extremely simple.

Phobia, hard to believe this is true..huh? I mean, how are these things not more well known? Day 2 for me, and still no cravings either. I was worried about waking up this morning and wanting a smoke really bad...but the E-cig was good instead.

I don't have any problem with liquid in the mouth, are you using prefilled carts or filling your own? A lot of that is just the carts being overfilled. Do you have any flavor(s) you like yet? I got an assortment, and don't really dig the tobacco flavors as much as I do the fruit. It's odd....but smoking a grape flavored cig is awesome! heh

Not only no smell, but no second hand smoke. Like he said, it's water vapor that dissipates quickly...yet a lot of places are trying to ban indoor use of these things, just like regular cigs.

Listen, if you are a smoker, and you want to quit....you owe it to yourself to give these a try.

You can refill yourself. Just buy juice from an online retailer and fill em up. There are retail stores that carry stuff, but they are usually in malls, and are usually VERY expensive and carry inferior products.

I just got 5 pre-filled carts with the starter kit of the regular tobacco. I was going to see how I like it before I bought some liquid and carts to fill on my own. I figured the pre-filled was little to filled. But also some of it was me just dragging on it to hard to begin with. Once I figured out how strong to pull on it, I get zero e-liquid in my mouth.

I am hearing that from a ton of people. That the regular tobacco is not for them once you start getting into the fruit flavors. Now that I figured out i love this thing. I was planning to order me some e-liquid and some empty carts that I can just fill on my own(2 drops).

Of the flavors you tried, which do you think are the better flavors?

Hey guys. Hate to be the person who rains on the parade, but I do want to make sure that you are all aware of some stuff regarding these e-cigs. In my profession, I deal with smoking, the related issues, nicotine addiction, etc. etc. I've just read some stuff on here that I want to make sure is being represented properly.

1: Nicotine itself is still a deadly poison. Nicotine is what leads to the increased blood pressure, increased rate of cardiac disease amongst tobacco users, circulatory issues, and kidney damage.

2: It is true that these e-cigs are a less-harmful alternative to smoking cigarettes. I just don't use the word "safer" since by that logic, a pound of C4 is safer than a nuclear weapon. They can both kill you, but the pound of C4 is less likely to do so just by standing near it.

I really want to re-iterate that you can't go around thinking these things are harmless and safe to use. That's simply not true. In comparison to a cigarette, however, yes, they are less dangerous because it does not involve any combusion byproducts, carbon monoxide, or nearly as many carcinogens. Nicotine itself is still mildly carcinogenic, but in a more indirect way. As stated earlier, nicotine is a poison and it kills living things. That is why the tobacco plant developed nicotine as a defense mechanism. Any time a poison is placed in your body, it has the potential to affect the lifecycle of the cells in your body and your lungs are frequently regenerating themselves. This leads to an increased risk of cancer. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like nicotine is nuclear material that will instantly cancer-ify you. But it's not 100% benign.

Nicotine is a stimulant, and hence it causes your blood vessels to constrict, thus increasing your blood pressure. Hypertension is a nasty little condition that does slowly kill you. If the blood vessels that wind up constricted are those in your heart, and you have a plaque build up that you were unaware of, it may result in a heart attack. Because of the blood vessel constriction, nicotine users are also more prone to getting infections as the decreased blood flow to the periphery can cause wounds to not heal quickly and allow more time for bacteria to fester. It also makes injuries like broken bones, sprained ankles, torn ligaments, etc. heal quicker.

However, if you are aware of these risks and still want to smoke, this is definitely a better alternative to smoking cigarettes. I'm not the type of person who goes around and tells everyone "you should quit smoking" because you know what? If someone wants to smoke that's their choice. As long as their choice doesn't negatively impact my way of living, then they can do whatever they damned please. Too many times people come up to me and tell me that they took Chantix to quit smoking and that "it didn't work". When I asked them why they took Chantix, they tell me that they wanted to take a pill that would make them just quit smoking. It doesn't work that way. If deep down you don't want to end your nicotine addiction, taking Chantix will not magically make you stop. It only helps out those who want to quit smoking, but their nicotine addiction is so strong that their normal life is unbearable without nicotine.

So hopefully I've been able to provide some clarification on what has been said here. If you want to go and use these e-cigs, then that is perfectly fine. Just don't think that using an e-cig is a 100%, completely healthy alternative to smoking cigarettes.

@Jdurg Of course they are not 100% safe. I mean hell just standing in the sun is not 100% safe. But 4 chemicals compared to 4,000 is a huge difference. Hell even the air you are breathing with all the chemicals we place in the air now has just as much chance to give you some kind of cancer.

I mean it has been proven that some of the plastics in cars can cause cancers fumes that you inhale when you enter a car thats been sitting in the sun baking.

basically what I am saying is NO ONE walks around safe from cancer.

To tell you the truth chef, I am not sure. Maybe bahzno knows. I know the cloud 9 has the atomizer and it inserts inside the refillable carts.

Okay. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that. Most people look at cigarettes and think the entire danger portfolio of them is comprised of emphyzema and lung cancer. People tend to disregard the cardiovascular dangers that are pretty significant.

Yea all good man. Plus I am a VERY light smoker even to begin with so I am not concerned with it. (I only smoked a cig once a week or so)

I don't think I or anyone said they were 100% safe. But you have to agree that they are only about a 100 times better for you than a regular cigarette is.

Calling nicotine a deadly poison is technically true, but only in concentrated form. Nicotine is a stimulant like caffeine and is far from what makes regular cigarettes deadly.

A cartridge is just the "tank" that holds the juice, it then connects to the atomizer which heats that juice into the vapor that you inhale.

A cartomizer is both a cartridge and an atomizer combined. They are a little more convenient at the cost of (generally) shorter life for the unit. But there are new editions of the cartomizers being developed that are said to be much better.

Thanks so much fo the 411 fellas. I'm probably going to pick one of these up. Been smokin a half pack a day for 20 years. The problem is I enjoy it, but I'd like to try the "less lethal" option.
