Chicago, IL receives more snow per year than Barrow, AK, despite Barrow being the farthest north city in the United States.

Charlotte, NC averages more snowfall per year than the South Pole.

I think a lot of that has to do with it being too cold to snow.

Texas & Alaska need their own Burger King commercial. Who are you voting for ? Team Texas or Team Alaska ?

People in Alaska really dont like people from Texas for some reason.

Not cold so much as dry. The air near the poles is extremely dry and you can't have precipitation without moisture.
