Seinfeld to me is funny during an interview in a certain context...the show was ok, but not gut busting...I see it similar to how I see a show like Friends.

Re: Off Topic 2010
I can't wait for Piers Morgan to replace that dirty old man, I have never been able to stand him and from what I understand Morgan is perhaps the best interviewer in the world based on his UK rep, even if his ethics leave a lot to be desired.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
I don't think I'd say Friends was any more funny than Seinfeld, but I agree with the sentiment on Seinfeld. It had its moments that is for sure and its best episodes rank near the top for any sitcom, but by and large it was always wildly overrated. That or it seems that way because every Friday from September through May people quoting the previous night's episode got old really, really fast.
That said one of my friend's uncles was on the series finale of Seinfeld, he was the random guy they said hi to on the street in NYC and then again in Massachusetts. The contract he had for the show actually had a $5 million dollar penalty for revealing anything about the finale.Comment

Oh hell no, I just saw what I typed, and how it reads. I meant to say I put them in the same "meh" category. I never understood the mania between the two shows. Seinfeld is by far funnier, but still not something I'd usually watch if South Park or Family Guy was on. Friends is useless and is NOT gut busting. Hell no. I edited for clarity the prior post. I actually hate friends, lol but I can sit through it.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
Friends killed itself by putting Ross and Rachel together way too soon, that was a story arch that should have lasted seasons before finally putting them together. The first season of Friends was amazing and it actually found that magic again over the last 2 seasons, but anything in between Season 1 and the last two was generally crap. I also couldn't get by the willful suspension of disbelief that they could begin to afford those NYC apartments. Even though I was too young to get much of the humor, I always thought Frasier was the best comedy NBC had at the time but it was overshadowed. That said The Simpsons from that era (and like friends in recent years) was far, far ahead of either hit comedy from NBC.Oh hell no, I just saw what I typed, and how it reads. Re: Off Topic 2010
"Frasier, Brian's a seismologist."
"Well, that's so perfect, Lillith. Brian a seismologist and you have so many faults!"
EDIT: Oh, this stemmed from a Seinfeld discussion. Seinfeld is the funniest and best written show in the history of TV. The amount of references one could make with the source material at any given point during their daily travels is amazing. I probably make 10 Seinfeld references a day. It's the biggest shame that so many people I know don't even get them a lot of the time.
How people could come up with something that perfect is astounding to me, and this is coming from someone who hated it growing up.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 09-24-2010, 01:54 PM.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
You ain't lying, there so many things that Seinfeld has done an episode on. Innovative and honestly genius television is not overrated...the last 2 seasons or whatnot where not up to par but season 2-7 were awesome.
...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I feel like this is what happened to The Office. Jim & Pam got together, were married, AND had a kid after only a handful of seasons.Friends killed itself by putting Ross and Rachel together way too soon, that was a story arch that should have lasted seasons before finally putting them together.
