Just finished a damn good "Vampire" book. After swearing off anything vampire related in wake of the Twilight saga, my mom hands me a book and says: "It's not...really...about vampires."

It's called "The Strain," the first of a trilogy by Guiellermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Blade II) and Chuck Hogan, who wrote the novel Prince of Thieves which has since been renamed The Town and made into a major motion picture. Had it not been by those two, I would've never picked it up, but I am glad I did.

Damn good book. Can't wait for the second one to come out later this month.
