A buddy suggested going to the golf driving lanes next week. I have never ever played golf in my life (played mini-golf as a kid about 25 years ago, but that doesn't count). Some other guy gave me some basic tips because I don't even know how to hold the club, so at least I understand the basics.

I'm not expecting to enjoy it that much becuase you probably need to practice for a while and get into before you start enjoying it. I guess, if I manage to hit the ball, that would be a mini-success for me.

I asked this buddy if he's sure he wants to hang with the guy who has no idea what he's doing...haha. But he's a cool guy, he said it would be ok.

Lol don't be discouraged at how bad you look out there. First time I swung a club was pretty sad. At least I had all my PE classmates shame to laugh at as well though.

Yeah man, you don't want to go golfing with the douchey guy who scoffs because you're golfing too slow anyway. A lot of the guys I golf with aren't very good and I've been golfing much longer than them. At first they weren't sure I wanted to go with them, and I just told them that I don't care how good anyone is, I just want to go out and have a couple beers and have fun. That's what it's all about. Don't worry about what anyone else there thinks. Trust me, 99% of them don't give a ****. All you can do is try to improve your own game.

Thanks. I guess it's not as embarrassing as doing "something else" for the first time....

It's just that golf isn't like basketball, that you can go where ever you want any time (not to mention for free) and practice on your own before going on a "real" court. But oh well, I'll probably practice more and more after that, and after several times I'll feel better about it.

And the guy I'm going with is like 10 times more geek than I am (if it's possible) and he said he's not much of a golf expert himself. And he's the last guy who would make fun of you, he's really a good person!

I'm sure they'll have all sorts of tips and pointers, especially the popular "keep your head down", so I'll throw my favorite tip into the mix: don't swing as hard as you can! Just relax and casually hit it in the right direction

Full figured women are only good if they have the correct boobs to stomach ratio. Nothing worse then seeing a big woman that is big EVERYWHERE but her chest. It is like how is that possible ?

Women 300 pounds with A cups......SMH.

You are going to the driving range right? I have taken a few guys to the range that had no idea what they were doing. They usually enjoyed it as long as they didnt care they couldnt hit the ball like I could. If its your first time out, dont expect any good hits. As long as you dont get frustrated both of you will have fun.

Oh and one tip that always helps me, old men play this sport on the same course you are. You dont have to kill the ball, you need to have a good swing.

OK, guys, thanks for the (golf) tips. I'm sure not gonna hit the ball as hard as I can because: A) No point of hitting that hard if you actually can't really hit it. B) I don't want to look like Happy Gilmore.
