Re: Off Topic 2010
My ****ing desktop computer keeps making this squeaking noise then the screen shuts off. I think its the graphics card, but I'm not too sure.
Now I'm forced to use the laptop.

Re: Off Topic 2010
Is it Beeping by chance? And do you mean the monitor turns off(like when you turn of your PC, but don't turn off your monitor first), or the screen just goes black?-Ohio State-

Re: Off Topic 2010
One of the greatest voices and reporters/anchors in Toronto media passed away at the age of 57 of Kidney Cancer which was an extension of Prostate Cancer that he beat in '04.
Mark Dailey won quite a few awards and literally invented the police beat job in Toronto news with his work at City-TV. He's best known however to a certain generation (which I am part of) as The Voice of City-TV and of the City of Toronto for his great announcing of the City-TV ID "City-TV, Everywhere!" and the intro/outro to TV shows and the Late Great Movies.
R.I.P. Mark Dailey
Here's a sample of his voiceover work:

Dailey was also a guy with a sense of humor here's a great CityPulse News ad:

Re: Off Topic 2010
No beeping, and the screen just goes black, but its still on. Strangely if I turn off the screen and then turn it back on, the picture shows up for a couple of seconds then disappears again.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
Yeah, I saw my cousin's status "RIP Mark Dailey" but had no idea what she was referring to. Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like a good man.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
That kind of sounds like your monitor could be at fault. Do you have an another monitor around to test it out whether or not that's the case? If it's not the monitor then I guess it could be your Graphics card.-Ohio State-

Re: Off Topic 2010
Glad to be of help
City-TV actually did a full half hour tribute show to him and he was indeed a pretty good man. His co-anchor for many years Gord Martineau was pretty broken up over the loss of his friend of 31 years. Dailey was a great friend and supporter of the police as he was a former officer in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio and was one of the supporters that brought the Crime Stoppers number to Toronto.Last edited by SPTO; 12-07-2010, 03:49 PM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
