Yup. I graduated in December with an accounting major and CIS minor. Of course they pushed the master's program and CPA angle, but I needed a year or two to "get my feet wet" before I made that commitment.

The Becker course always sounded like it was a good choice, though. The success rate was pretty damn high (80%+) and they have the "boot camp" at my university.

I know different states have different requirements, but in VA I can sit for a CPA exam, but I cannot be licensed until I have 150 total credit hours (which is basically another year of college courses - which is what my uni's master's program is).

I understand where you are coming from. I graduated this past May, I had a job in line, one of the lucky ones. I am pursuing a Masters as well, with a target date of next fall.

Here in NJ/NY, I can sit, but won't get licensed unless you are at 150. Also, you do need work experience.

I also jumped back and forth with the thought of going for an M.B.A but might just go for a Masters in Taxation. (Current field I am in)

I have heard nothing but great things about Becker, however, I want to try this cost-effective strategy, the first go-round.

I'll tell you one thing, I work at a private company, and I didn't realize how much down time one has. I am currently at work right now. On the bright side, it has allowed me to re-visit OS like old times.

Nice. I opted out of the whole "big firm" ideal, which were basically the only recruiters coming to campus because the pictures they were painting were too perfect to be true.

It took me 6 months to find a job because a lot of companies in this area were going for experience more than education, but I landed in with a very nice, small private firm.

Downtime is nice, though I stay busy most of the day. Tax season will be a completely differen story I think, haha.

I think Tax is the smartest way to go as far as a Master's concentration. It just makes the most sense, especially when you consider how little the general public actually knows about Taxes. I've been doing some 1120s, 1065s, and random 1040s and its been interesting. If I ever get tired of doing strictly accounting, I wouldn't mind going into Tax Law.

Ah, what the heck! I have to finish up 2 (was so into it when it came out, but stopped playing like most games I have (The Show being the only exception) cause I get so busy in the summer).

Amazon has them for $42 right now, only $5 more than the regular edition, and a hair less then half of what it was when it first came out.

Nerd to the core! Love waiting to buy games now, unless they are a sick must have! Such as Uncharted 3 Collector's is definitely pre-ordered.



$13.66 on Amazon, why not! More games to add to a "must play" pile in my house.

I just started playing Alpha Protocol, SPTO. I had finished ME2 and wanted to take a break before starting ME1 again.

I've only done the tutorials, but it seems like it will be a fun game. I can see its not as polished, but there's some good elements. The hacking mini-games are challenging, but the computer hacking is not going to be fun for the whole game.

I picked up Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 this week. Love it so far even though I'm very confused with the story and trying to figure out the powers. Good game to help pass the time.

Once you figure it out, you will be blown away, even if you didn't play the 1st game

New black 360 with the wifi (I steered clear of the Kinect and got me the 250 Gigs )

Also, yes. The Codex is boss. I spent more time reading that than I did actually playing

Bought FIFA 11 yesterday, but dangit that's what I should have bought ME2. Have them on my PC from a cheap steam sale, but it's just hard to play on the PC imo.

What kind of character are you running with? If you're trained in sniper rifles they are quite beastly.

Infiltrator. I've been using the default sniper rifle and it's been fun.

I'm loving the voice-acting and the cutscenes so far. Still having trouble controlling my squad at times.
