I started reading Lies My History Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong. I only made it through the first chapter last night, but it was very interesting to me. It's kind of scary what kind of things are "swept under the rug."

I don't remember even learning that much about Wilson in history classes, so the revelation that he was constantly screwing with Latin America and that from the sound of it he was an outright racist was pretty shocking.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

That one has been on my wish list for two years, but so many other books keep getting in the way!
Right now, I'm about halfway through Inheritance (Part four of the Eragon series). Anyone who thinks this series is for kids is sorely mistaken. Some of the most graphic sequences I've ever read have appeared in this book.Through music, you can live forever...TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, San Diego Padres, Notre Dame Fighting IrishComment

Re: OS Book Club Pt II
Any one read F. Paul Wilson's books? Specifically the the "secret history of the world" books?
I am reading the final repairman Jack book that came out in October and would like to finish reading the "adversary" series of books before the revised "nightworlds" comes out, but I am having a hard time locating the the ones after "The Keep"
I have tried a few different Amazon vendors but they always end up giving me my money back because they can't find a copy even though it says they have used ones in stock.www.simgamingnetwork.com Come join our leagues!

Re: OS Book Club Pt II
Just started reading Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. A buddy lent it to me. If you remember the 80's at all, and love gaming, this is a must read.
It’s the year 2044, and the real world is an ugly place.
Like most of humanity, Wade Watts escapes his grim surroundings by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia that lets you be anything you want to be, a place where you can live and play and fall in love on any of ten thousand planets.
And like most of humanity, Wade dreams of being the one to discover the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this virtual world. For somewhere inside this giant networked playground, OASIS creator James Halliday has hidden a series of fiendish puzzles that will yield massive fortune—and remarkable power—to whoever can unlock them.
For years, millions have struggled fruitlessly to attain this prize, knowing only that Halliday’s riddles are based in the pop culture he loved—that of the late twentieth century. And for years, millions have found in this quest another means of escape, retreating into happy, obsessive study of Halliday’s icons. Like many of his contemporaries, Wade is as comfortable debating the finer points of John Hughes’s oeuvre, playing Pac-Man, or reciting Devo lyrics as he is scrounging power to run his OASIS rig.
And then Wade stumbles upon the first puzzle.
Suddenly the whole world is watching, and thousands of competitors join the hunt—among them certain powerful players who are willing to commit very real murder to beat Wade to this prize. Now the only way for Wade to survive and preserve everything he knows is to win. But to do so, he may have to leave behind his oh-so-perfect virtual existence and face up to life—and love—in the real world he’s always been so desperate to escape.

Friday Night Lights and the Blind Side are both great sports books, both better than the movies.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cooperstown is pretty great too.
