I finished Brave New World last night. I'm sure it will stick with me a lot more and a lot longer than it did previously when I read it in grade school.

Great book to pick apart and analyze society with. Two cautionary tales essentially.

I'm not sure what I'm going to read next. My friend wants me to read Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut and the description definitely sounds up my alley, but I was also thinking about Cormac McCarthy's Border Trilogy.

      Thoughts?

Have you previously read Catch 22 already? That also seems like it's up your alley.

Funny you mention that. One of my friends that I actually read BNW with suggested that one, too.

You can't go wrong with Vonnegut, although Galapagos is one I haven't read.

The Border Trilogy is on my list for this year as well. Want to read III/IV of The Dark Tower first, though.

Catch-22 should be here tomorrow. I could probably sneak in the first Border trilogy book since I have that and Cormac McCarthy is typical a speed-reading session. At least No Country was.

Is No Country the only Cormac book you've read? Blood Meridian and Child of God were not speed reads, for me at least. The Road and No Country were though.

I've read The Road as well. I couldn't put that one down either.

His other, not so commercial, stuff didn't read as quickly for me - but that could be due to the fact I was reading them for school and that usually hampers my enjoyment.

Looking for a suggestion for an 'Da Vinci Code'-like book. Historical fiction thriller/mystery, that sort of thing... Can anyone help?

Any of Daniel Silvas books. I believe the first one is The Kill Artist.

Hmm, I read the synopsis on the one and it seems a bit too political for what I'm looking for.

When I am done with my current books, I will look him up. I like those sort of books as well, so thanks!
