I'm reading "Killer Show" by John Barylick.

It's about The Station Nightclub Fire that happened back in '03.

It's really interesting, but sad at the same time.

I've always been haunted by it though, considering that I could have easily seen myself in a place like that (despite the fact that Great White sucks)

Ended up picking up Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. Loved Angels & Demons and Da Vinci Code, and had forgotten that the third book in the series had come out a couple years back.

As Bruins said, they're not the same type of books. Silva's Gabriel Allon series (which starts with The Kill Artist) is more of an international spy thriller, with a lot of historical art fiction in it, historical locations and all that.

Don't expect much. I enjoyed the first two, but the last one just felt hokey.

I'm just along for the ride. Neither of the first two books are that deep, but they were enjoyable (the movies, though...). A few chapters into TLS, and so far, so good.

I'm looking to purchase a good Mystery/Thriller book. Something that'll keep me on the edge of my seat, that won't allow me to go to sleep at night.

              Or even an action book.

              Any recommendations?

So The Salvation Army just opened up a thrift store where the Blockbuster used to be where I live so I took a look and picked up a novel (I was gonna pick up a non-fiction book but thought otherwise) Anywho, it's a counterhistorical novel written by Richard Dreyfuss (yes the actor) and Harry Turtledove called The Two Georges.

                The premise is interesting enough:

What if there never was an American Revolution? Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss and Hugo Award-winning author Harry Turtledove present readers with a rollicking adventure of an America that never was--but could have been! What if George Washington had made peace with King George? What if America was still part of the British Empire? And the Sons of Liberty were waging war against the King in the 1990s?.

I started reading Catch 22 last night. I can already tell from the style of writing I'm going to love this book.

Two of my favorite "thriller" series are a serial killer series written by Chelsea Cain, known as the Gretchen Lowell/Archie Sheridan ones...I believe the first one is "Heartsick"....and then the series by Richard Montanari that starts with The Skin Gods and The Rosary Girls.

No idea if those are what you're looking for but they're fun.

Been on a Neil Gaiman kick recently. Of the three I read, my ratings are:

American Gods > Stardust > Neverwhere

All three were great, though, and well worth the read. I need to find the BBC series Neverwhere, which came before the novel.

I'm going to take a quick break with 'The Night Circus' by Erin Morgenstern and then I'll be reading the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson.

                        Update:

I slowed down drastically so far this month, however I am closing in on finishing Book IV of Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, which would be book 10 of the year. Might go buy book 5 this weekend at some point and start that next.

Its got a lot of sex and violence but I've dug Altered Carbon and its two follow ups by Richard Morgan.

BTW for any Bond fans the North American release of the latest Bond novel is set for October (I think either that or September) and will feature a 45 year old Bond in the year 1969.

That's about all the details known about it right now but it's something I may get.
