Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/l...al-networking/
I wish more schools and jobs did this. And is it just me or are female teachers more horny then ever nowadays ? I remember when I was growing up female teacers were either happily married or happily divorced. They wore dresses down to their ankles and never wore a skirt.
Teachers now..........different story. Teachers now are HOT, they wear skirts, summer dresses, show a ton of skin. And they all seem so young now too. When I was in school all my teachers were in their 50s and 60s, with a couple in their mid to late 40s.
I will be the first to admit I've put stuff on my Facebook page that I never should, but with few exceptions I don't allow clients to become friends on Facebook. But if the teachers use common sense then I actually think that the use of social networking sites could be of huge benefit to the education process. What really surprises me is that New Hampshire would be the first state to do this and I am sure most OSers familiar with NH would agree.Comment

Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
IMO......teachers shouldn't add students period to their page. Most schools nowadays have a school website with every teacher listed with their school email address. If you want to contact a teacher email them at the school website email address. That would solve the problem.
To me nowadays too many teachers and adults in general try to be friends with kids. When I was a kid growing up, there was a clear line distinction between adult and kid. Adults weren't friends with kids PERIOD.
Even my parents were like that. They made it crystal clear they were my parents and not my friend. They didn't do the whole buddy buddy thing I see many parents nowadays do. But yet they wonder why their kids run a muck and disrespect them all the time.

Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
Very true.
I have a friend I grew up with and she is on FB and a HS teacher. She's very attractive, but I noticed she keeps comments with her students very short and positive, never being suggestive.
All it takes is one kid getting a crush on a teacher, privately messaging them on FB and the teacher replying and starting a slippery slope. Common sense is key, but as it has been said, common sense is not so common.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
Why didn't I have any hot teachers in high school?
Or middle school?
Or elementary school?
The majority of my high school teachers were men in their 40s (especially during the last two years in which I took a lot of AP courses and, thus, had mostly the same teachers).
Actually, I take that back. My Algebra II teacher was pretty hot. She had graduated from Appalachian State the previous year and was a first-year teacher. That was a good class...
So, the amount of hot teachers I've had is exactly one.Comment

I think anybody in a professional setting where they are viewed at as a role model should take great caution when putting up personal information on the internet.
By the way I date a hot 23-year old teacher and it's awesome!SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
Maybe I'm a weird person, but I'm good friends with a teacher that I had as a freshman and sophomore in high school. I still spend time with her and her husband, and that is the group of friends I hold most dear to me. Maybe I'm just the exception to the rule. *shrug*
My art teacher in Private School. I kept in touch with her even after I left private school. She says the same thing to me. That me keeping in touch with her and talking about "every day life" when I do made her feel like she wasn't forgotten. That she made a difference.
I like the idea that one of the guys said that one of his teachers had. A FB page for students and a FB page for friends that you keep locked down and private.
I think that most people should lock down their Wall and Photos on FB because a lot of us trying to find jobs or that have jobs with nosy bosses will look at your page! You show to much partying or crazy talk on your page people that are hiring will toss you in the "no" poll.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment

Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
I'm talking to one right now and I met her coworkers and all I have to say is: everyone needs to start looking into the teacher market if they want a date. Not many times after college that I've seen so many good looking women in the same room that weren't paid to be there."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
Stupid. I talked to 2-3 all the time on facebook on the summer. Usually coaches checking up on me for workouts.
Hell I played Gears of War and Modern Warfare with my golf coach all through out my Junior and senior year. Him and a bunch of others used to have marathon sessions until 4 in the morning.
I know this is to prevent more so students "harrasing"(to strong of a word) their hot teachers on facebook. I mean it's not illegal to ask for a naked pic is it? I was all over my hottest teacher.
It's all about professionalism and boundaries. Having personal relationships with someone to whom you are supposed to be providing a service can create problems.
And yes, it is illegal to ask for a naked pic of anyone. It could be considered harrassment, lewdness, etc. The real problem is if you did that and your teacher DIDN'T make an issue of it.Comment

Re: NH school teachers get rules on Facebook
I am friends with a few of my TA's and professors on facebook. But I would also call alot of my profs friends in real life. However, I do realize that college is completely different environment and everyone involved is an adult.
But I am a senior and several of my (female) friends want to be teachers. Keep in mind that they will be 22 when they begin to teach, It will be interesting how these decently good looking, young, friends of mine handle all of this when they are surrounded by horny 16 year olds all day.Comment
