No, it doesn't matter one damn bit. If you grew up loving a team, that's the team that you stick with. I grew up loving my hometown teams (Mariners, Seahawks, Sonics, Huskies and Cougs) and I still love them, even despite the total suckage of my teams. Seriously, on a side note, can anyone give me a fan base that has been tortured more than fans of the above-mentioned teams? The Mariners are horrible, losing 100+ games two out of the past three years, the Seahawks have never won a SB, the Sonics left, the Huskies and Cougs are lucky to win four of five games per year between them... Yet I still love these damn losers.

Back to the original topic... No, it does not matter if you love your hometown teams or not. If you lived in Washington and grew up loving the Atlanta Braves, that's all good. Just love them for the rest of your life and don't be a bandwagon jumper.

Hahahah....I'm pretty sure I've worn my Arizona State shirt and my Fresno State hoodie on UCLA campus.

            Why?

            Just curious.

All the indecision regarding retirement? We all hated that, but it just soured me on Favre, not the team.

Yeah, it's close. Both cities are eerily similar when it comes to their sports teams. At least Cleveland still has their NBA team while we do not. The Browns are horrible, but honestly, the Seahawks are not much better. The Indians have won (and been to) a World Series before, the Mariners have not.

I was young in 1991 when U-Dub won a co-title in football. That was cool I guess, but I really don't remember it. I wasn't alive when the Sonics won an NBA title. The only titles we've seen is the WNBA's Storm (x2, yawn) and the U-Dub girl's softball team.

I think it's close but I still think Washington area sports fan are more tortured. It's just torture, year in and year out.

Lol I was joking. As in Lebron was the team and since he left there isn't a team anymore

Aww don't remind me of the '92 Rose Bowl, I'm a Michigan fan... At least it was evened up in '93.

I rooted for the old Payton/Kemp Sonics to beat the Bulls. Only because I'm a Pistons fan and it's not a pleasant rivalry. I still hate Jordan...

I guess that also explains why I understand the WNBA thing, the Detroit Shock won 3 titles before moving to Tulsa (like anyone cared).

Suddenly in '06 we get good and make it to the WS and all these previously invisible Tigers fans start cheering and going crazy. Isn't it more rewarding to cheer them through thick and thin when they do finally succeed?
Yeah its very nice to see them win. Its better watching them win then the Cowboys because the Cowboys always win but the Rangers never win.

Ahhhhh... The Payton and Kemp Sonics. Man, those were the days. Even though they never won a title, they were so damn good. They just couldn't get past Jordan's Bulls, or Stockton and Malone's Jazz for that matter. The NBA was actually very good then. Now, well for me at least, not so much.

Check this video of the Reign Man out... He was pretty special back in the day...
