    So my dad died today........

    Happened after school today. He was subbing for one of the math teachers. I saw him walking to the stadium for the pep rally and was motioning for him to go around to the other side. Didn't know that would be the last time I see him alive.

    He walked back into the building after the pep rally and passed out on the way back to the math teacher's room. I went to do bus duty and a student told me he passed out. By the time I got there he wasn't responding. They were trying to revive him and I didn't even go to him to hold his hand or anything. Didn't want to get in the way. It was a heart attack or heart failure. He's had heart problems for the last few years.

    I feel like a piece of crap and a terrible son. Wasn't there when he needed me the most.

      Sorry for your loss bro and you are not a bad son. There is some things we can't always do. When my brother died I thought if only I check on him I could have saved his life. But in reality there is only so much we can do. Your family are in my thoughts. Hang in there.

          Sorry to hear that, man. My condolences to you and your family.

          But like Scott said, there's only so much you could have done. Don't put the blame on yourself.

              Dude...don't say that. Its not like you knew what was coming and bailed on him.

              The death of your Father will be hard enough to deal with without putting undeserved guilt upon your shoulders. You've done nothing wrong, now be there for your mother and grieve.

                              Very sorry to hear this. Please believe us when we say it isn't your fault and, there is nothing you could have done to stop it from happening.

                                          You're definitely not a terrible son, you rushed to him. Just because you didn't hold his hand doesn't mean you weren't there. Not wanting to get in the way is totally understandable and shouldn't be looked back on with remorse. Good luck in these difficult times, my thoughts go out.
