I currently live in Washington and have my whole life, and while I love it here, I am getting fed up. We're taxed like crazy here, our politicians are completely inept. Our Governor inherited a healthy surplus and has turned it into record breaking deficits and shortfalls. Now she's putting it on the back of the working class to save her. I work in corrections, as a state employee. I have to deal with some pretty harsh stuff. The state wants to shred our contract and basically cut our pay by $500 per month. I am going back to school in the spring, but losing $500 per month would cripple my family. I am the sole income and provide for my wife and son.
I know the whole country is bad right now, but I've heard that Wyoming is a great place to live right now. I have a job opportunity to work in a prison down there and make the same amount of money, though the cost of living is so much cheaper. I am really considering it, though the thought of living in Wyoming doesn't really get me too excited. It might happen and it might not, but right now, I'm just sick and tired of getting screwed over by a horrible state government. And here, we just continue to vote them in.
