I will agree with that. In my opinion anything below Zero or maybe 10 degrees you should give you car about 5 minutes or so to warm up. Any more than that and eventually you could up with a plugged converter. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: Do you let your car warm up when it's cold outside?
cooler air is denser
i dont let mine warm up, not needed and i have seen people leave there cars running for 10-15 minutes only to come out and see that an oil seal hav gone and run the car out of oil, if they were in it/driving it they may have shut it off in time to save their engine---Comment

Re: Do you let your car warm up when it's cold outside?
If I have a long drive somewhere and I don't want to be sitting in the cold for a long time I will. I have a 4 minute drive to school so I usually don't.Comment

Re: Do you let your car warm up when it's cold outside?
I tell ya.. That drives me absolutely INSANE when people don't clean their cars off.. I get very upset... It's a simple task that takes a few minutes to do.. I really think people should get pulled over for that nonsense.. It's unsafe and deserves a fine... Especially if it's snow.. The snow could freeze and then you have chunks of ice flying around..
Oh back on topic... I warm my car up only in the winter here in Maine.. Summer,Spring,&Fall not so much... I have 147,000 miles on my truck so it's not hurting it... Only thing I had to do is normal wear and tear parts like belts, Brakes, etc etcComment

Re: Do you let your car warm up when it's cold outside?
I got one of those big snow scrapers with the huge brush on the end just to make sure I can get the snow off of my car and it doesn't blind anyone behind me. It's funny because the brush takes up like my whole back seat in my little two door car... lol... it's clearly a scraper built for trucks.I tell ya.. I drive an '99 Grand Am, with 150k miles on it.
In Detroit it's obviously really, really, cold. I usually get in, turn it on, then play with the radio or my phone for a minute before I'm ready to go. I'd guess I sit there for 30 seconds to a minute.JayElectronicaBluElzhi2PacTheNotoriousB.I.G.ReksSc arfaceFashawnJeruThaDamajaComment

Ha. I also have a scraper with a brush - it's always in my car. I think I left it there even during the summer... I also have a shovel always with me. It can be handy at times.I got one of those big snow scrapers with the huge brush on the end just to make sure I can get the snow off of my car and it doesn't blind anyone behind me.
