Oh sorry for the mental image.
I know the feeling well. When I was a kid I had chronic suppurative otitis media in my left ear and would have to go to the doctors literally every month to get all the crap suctioned out. My doctor always commented on how well I cooperated and said a lot of kids my age would be so uncooperative that they'd actually have to take them to the OR and put them under to properly clean their ears.

It's 18, 16 is too young in my opinion. Last year I was taking driving lessons and I was doing good but my instructor was terrible and I had issues with him so I didn't took the examn at the time and I've been posponing my driving examn. It has been so much time that I need some classes to regain confidence and remember the lessons.

Fun fact: I failed the eye exam when getting my license(or maybe it was the permit) and had to get my eye doctor to sign some form to allow the state to give me the license.

          Stay safe...

Correction, that is in some states. In some cities and states you have to be 18. <!-- / message -->

I didn't pass mine six years ago, but the guy let me guess my way through it. Had to wear my glasses this year, but that's not really a big deal.

I didn't get my license until late in my senior year, so I drove in the spring. Got to drive a 96 Mitsubishi Gallant. But it wasn't mine, and it was commandeered shortly thereafter by my Dad. He drove it up until about a month ago. 250K miles on that sucker!

I just got MY first car. 2001 Ford Focus ZTS. It's bangin', I've had it for 2 months now and am still so appreciative that I finally got a car of my own. You truly do not appreciate it unless you get it with your own money. I won't forget that whenever I have kids and they're old enough to drive...

Do you all have the thing where it is illegal to drive a manual tranny if you take your test in an automatic?

Regarding the topic at hand, I got my license shortly after I turned 16. Of course, I had been driving quite a bit since I had turned 15 with my learner's permit. I remember within a few days after I got my learner's permit, I drove the whole four hours to Asheville and back (with my parents in the car, of course) when we went to see my cousin.

I didn't have any issues, concerns, or anything when it came to getting my driver's license. I've been driving around the house since I was young + with a dad that eats, sleeps, and breathes cars/racing.. it runs in your' blood. Passed the written test first try, the day I turned 15 and passed my drivers test first try, the day I turned 16.
My sister was a little pissed about me using her car to take it, though

I had to go 4 times before I finally got my license. 1st time my mom didn't have her insurance card. 2nd time a brake light was out. 3rd time I failed because apparently I drove over a white line in an empty parking lot before we got on the road. Passed the 4th time.
