All baseball games matter, but it is pretty easy to see why people wouldn't like it. Its probably the easiest sport to pay attention to at the beginning, only halfway pay attention to it in the middle, then start caring again around the end. The games in the summer are super important, but they really just don't feel like it to the casual fan because there is not much urgency at that point.
Going back to an earlier discussion though, NCAA Tourney and NHL playoff games (Especially when Beantown is telling you to go **** yourself.) are the most gut wrenching to me. Note my football team hasn't made the playoffs in forever so I don't know what that feels like.

Gimme LSU against this slate this year, or Auburn last year, Alabama two years ago, or any number of other past SEC teams, and I like my chances of doing this a lot, actually.
The ACC is a balanced conference talent-wise, but not top-heavy. None of those ACC teams have beaten anyone of note out-of-conference recently to give any impression otherwise, with the lone exception of Miami beating Ohio State.Comment

I'm not saying the SEC does not put out the best teams or is not the best conference. I think it probably is the best conference. I just feel it is way overrated. People are always like, "The top 6 SEC teams would go 12-0 in any other conferences."
I disagree with that. Maybe this year Bama and LSU could go 12-0 in any conference, but no one else in my opinion.
And I guess I'll never be free of the VT water comments. I know you all were probably poking fun with me the whole time because it was ridiculous, but it really seemed like everyone believed that was my excuse for the loss when I clearly said it wasn't I just said it was a factor that hurt Miami more so than VT.
And I find it funny you all keep quoting the ACC teams, but leave out the Big 12 teams. Might just be a coincidence, or it might not....“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Sorry to hear about your dog Canes. Your story makes me think of my Newf who was sick for almost 2 years before he died at the age of 12 1/2 (ancient for a giant breed dog). He'd been as healthy as could be until he was about 10 then developed hypothyroidism. Later he developed this mysterious and chronic nasal discharge that was so bad that he'd blow huge gobs of snot out when he sneezed (it didn't seem to affect his ability to smell food though). We took him to the vets for tests and had him on powerful antibiotics but nothing helped. Eventually the vet discovered a mass in his abdomen and later a solid mass over one side of his rib cage and he lost a ton of weight going from a max of near 190 to probably little more than 100 when he passed. Though through it all he never showed any signs of distress or discomfort until he finally just passed away during the night. So yeah, its tough watching a pet slowly decline and not really knowing whats wrong and not being able to do anything about it.

Wait what? I thought this was like european soccer and the best NFL team was hoping to be promoted to the SEC some day.
Pretty sure SEC teams could beat Chuck Norris, Bill Brasky, and the most interesting man in the world together in a superteam.
