Not sure what you mean FT. You mean working out at home? You could do dumbbell squats, DB lunges, Bulgarian split squats, calf raises etc etc and the list goes on.

Beer is my worst enemy when trying to lose weight. When hanging out with friends it just doesnt seem right to not have a few. I cannot watch UFC events without beer.

          Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

So I'm looking for a few ways to lose a few pounds. I'm not overweight at all. I'm 19, 5' 10" and about 180 lbs, but I'm pretty out of shape. The only place I've really gained the weight is in my stomach and my pecs. I haven't been very physically active since I was a sophomore in HS because of work and just no one to really do stuff with. I moved out of the neighborhood I grew up in with all of my friends I used to play outside for hours with, and it just slowly went down hill from there.

I'm looking to lose about 15 pounds. I don't eat very well, mainly because I'm forced to eat a lot of fast food since I work 40 hours a week and go to school full time. And I drink a lot of soda. I know that's the first thing I need to cut.

What I really want to know is, one, how can eat healthy, but still stay more on the go with the food I eat? And two, what are some good exercises, workouts, etc. that can help me lose that 15 pounds? I have a great metabolism, and thats why it's taken 4 years to actually catch up to me. I just want to nip it in the bud now before it gets any worse.

If I were you, I would go for grilled chicken sammy's without 1 or both of the buns, or grilled chicken wraps at Mickey D's. Mickey D's also has oatmeal in the morning and fruit and walnut salads with yogurt. Don't eat all the yogurt, it's loaded with sugar. Grilled chicken salads work and so do oven baked wings at Toppers, etc......

I don't know if your university has a weight room, but alternate between toning your arms one day, legs every other day, and back to upper body. The days in between you should work on cardio.

            Hope that helps.

It totally helps, but I'm allergic to poultry. That's why I have to eat so much beef. Believe me, I love poultry, I just can't eat it. I'm gonna start to use the weight room so thanks for those tips.

Are there any fast food places that do more with pork than beef? Or healthier fish? I love fish and I think that and pork are really my only options other than beef.

I started Ideal Protein yesterday. I weighed in at 202. Some of the food I've tried has been ok and some of it's horrible. Overall, I think I can do this though. I'd love to get down to 175-180 before Thanksgiving.

I can't say enough how much this has turned around my health. Not only I dropped Psoriasis medication, my blood pressure is healthy and my dr dropped that as well as my blood sugar has been excellent. My next goal is to get off diabetes meds for good and be med free.

Since giving up meat, I still fell into eating veggie pizza a couple times last month, bread and desserts I shouldn't have had but this month I'm going to focus on cutting out a lot of bread/cheese. I will still have about a fist full of rice. I've lost 14 pounds so far but I think I slacked a bit in the gym so I will dedicate this month to at least going 4 times a week.

Was a great documentary. Wondering if you drew inspiration from it? If not, watch it, similar stories.

In HS I was 200-210 playing baseball and football. Rock solid, not that much fat (not bodybuilder ripped, but very well put together).

Averaged around 215 out of HS still playing baseball. Twilight Leagues and Pro-tryouts, etc.

Met a wonderful girl, take care of all when I was 23-24 (weight about 228), and then all hell brokes lose and got up to 290. Yet her small little Asian frame stayed at 115 when she could eat like a horse.

Last summer I got down to 240, was with a different girl after a long 6 year relationship, winter came, got up to 275. Now I am down to 235 (was 240 3 days ago when started with him) (but also put on an additional 15lbs of muscle the last few months compared to last year's 240), and being very strict and on a sick routine with a buddy of mine I went to HS with who is a personal trainer. Dropping pretty good, and I want to get back to the 200 range since I have a lot of muscle. Toning up and bulking up a lot again.

I have officially hit the 30 pound mark.

I think I am going to adjust my goal. The way the pounds are coming off, I may aim for the 100 pound mark and just say that's good enough. According to the chart in the locker room, that'd put me in a safe BMI rate.

I cannot believe I was this out of shape.

Great stuff man! 30lbs is nothing to be sneezed at.

What you are doing is obviously working so you just have to stick with it and you'll get there.

Yes I did. I was talking about earlier in this thread. As soon as I saw the movie I bought a juicer. I been juicing almost every day since then and haven't ate any meat. Lost 25 pounds so far in a month and half and dropped 2 medications.

That is GREAT man! So glad to hear that. I watched it the other day, and I myself am going to pick up a juicer as well. Would be great to incorporate that into my diet. Good Stuff!

I'll be praying for everyone in this thread to lose weight. One thing that will help some who trends to end up eating fast foods: educate yourself on the nutritional info on that stuff. It's helped me when I get the urge and then I think about how many calories and fat is packed into that crap.
Anyone who's having a hard time adjusting to healthier foods just hang in there. even if you have to slowly wean yourself off some of the bad stuff. your body has become addicted to the additives that make up an unhealthy diet (high sodium, sugars, etc). You can adjust!

I've lost five pounds since starting my diet on Tuesday. Also, I haven't worked out a single day since I started my diet. Not that I normally work out but, I usually play bball 3-4 times a week. I'm planning on getting back into the swing of things with bball this week and my official weigh-in isn't until Friday; so I'm hoping to drop another 5-6 pounds before then.
