I get this urge to just start eating, but I'm really not even hungry. It's really freaking hard to put aside, sometimes, too. Sometimes I can, other times I end up eating close to 1000 calories just grabbing random crap.
I used to do this. What I started to do, was any time I got the urge to start eating when I shouldn't, I would get a glass of water and drink it. Worked wonders for me, and I've cut out a ton of food.

      Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

I don't even want to get on a scale for fear of what I might see. 270? Very likely. Pretty sad that I was weighing in at around 250 in the summer. Not good. Then again, I might be in the 260's. I don't know, but I'm going to force myself to weigh-in tomorrow. At 6'6" I can carry some weight, but 270 is too much and that's what I feel like I am. I can see it in pictures and I've been this weight before. Better than the 285 I was at my heaviest, but the time to kick it into gear is now.

My biggest problem is space. I want to start P90x, but I've been saying that for a year now. I have no space in my garage, because I'm storing my 20-month-old son's outside toys in there for the winter. I could use the living room, but it would be late at night when the wife and boy are in bed. I know... excuses, excuses.

I will start by eating better, but this is crap. I am an athlete and I haven't played jack in about five months now. I haven't really done anything and I can feel the effects of it. I know I'll get my weight in check because I always do, but I need to quit doing this. I kept my weight down for the better part of three years but am starting up some bad habits again - late night eating being the worst one. I get home from work at 10:30 PM and am usually starving by then, and for the past two or three months, I haven't had a conscience when it came to eating bad food.

Oh well... I'll get it. I just can't get down on myself.

      GOAL:

Lose 10 pounds until I'm down to 240. I should be able to hit that by April by a healthy diet alone, but I need to start some type of exercise program. I am hoping P90x is the answer, if a) my back allows it and b) I can find some space to get going with it. It's not the workouts that are hard, it's the commitment and getting started.

I know I can do it, though.

I don't think I want to check the scale after this holiday weekend. Ugh. Back to the real world for about another month and then Christmas dinners.

I didn't either but I did anyway this morning and wish I hadn't, gained 5 pounds in the last week and a half. With the way my schedule was, and the holidays, gym time was nearly impossible. Plus all the eating.

Back to it now, should be able to drop back down rather quickly if I get back into my normal eating habits and gym time.

I did really well eating over thanksgiving. It wasn't even an effort, my mindset I guess is at a point where I'm comfortable eating less an avoiding most danger foods. I still have 2 main food habits to worry about: Pizza (95% of the time of the frozen variety), and bread. Just about everything I eat has bread of some sort, be it toast, buns, wraps, or crust. As far as pizza goes, I've done better by getting the "lower" calorie pizzas instead of the 2500 calorie boys since I know I'm going to eat the whole thing anyway. Mama Rosa's are good for this, with Jacks & Tony's too. But overall I still need to lay off the pizza more.

Even with that said, I'm still losing weight. Last checkin I was at 212.5, which puts me at 15 lbs lost since making my efforts official.

267.6 pounds this morning. That's actually better than I thought. With the way I've been eating, 275 would not have surprised me in the least. I've gained around 15 pounds since the summer, which is a lot, but with the way I've been eating, it truly could be worse. Need to stay positive. I ate great today.

I'm going to keep you all updated.

              6'5" (I am six-five-and-three-quarters with shoes off)

              Goal:

              257.6 by January 1, 2012

I am not going to sit here and say that I am going to start a crazy exercise routine yet because that's going to be a lie. I need to clean my diet up and get down to 250 before starting P90x. My body simply isn't ready for that beast yet.

                    Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

This week has been great as far as nutrition goes.

Small portions throughout the day and snacks, and I cut off eating after 7 PM. That's a challenge considering I go to bed late, but if I'm hungry past that time, it's cottage cheese or fruit.

Two pounds down, just like that.

265.5 when I stepped on the scale today.

Daily caloric intake is still good - just smarter food choices and smaller portions.

I should hit my goal in no time, hopefully. Then it'll be on to the next 10 pounds.

It will be a challenge later today. We'll see where my discipline is at.

Heading to Seattle in eight hours for the Seahawks/Eagles game. Those beers are a bit easier to abstain from when they're $9 per pop!

So do we need a new thread for 2012?

I weighed in today at 205.5 which is my lowest in about 6 years. My overall high was 250, but in this current losing effort I've lost 22 pounds dating back to August. I can't believe how close I'm getting to seeing a 1 as the first digit on the scale, it's been forever!

I still don't exercise or diet, while drinking regularly. This has been done entirely by reducing calories overall and drinking lots of water.

Nice work on the WL mate! Just goes to show it is all about cals in vs cals out at the end of the day. I have just transitioned over to the 2012 fitness challenge thread instead:
