    Re: Who loves their job?

I left my job that I hated, laid off but still hated it enough to want to quit. It was a call center job for a phone company that's up and coming, and I thought real hard - and realized I really..really...really do not want to work in a call center job again.

WIth that said, job hunting now - and the best job out there, which I've gone pretty deep into interviews and could be a candidate, is the same company my sister works for, my fiance, my two friends from high school.

The salary is a huge step up, tuition reimbursement so I can get my BS (have my AS), and option for relocation which would be great because I've been in KS too long.

The question is to my fellow OS bros...is there a job out there that could match this salary ($30k) where I do not have to be on the frickin phone?

Please help me out, I have tried to search everywhere and I'm either not qualified or just don't have the experience.

Part of me wants to go and do sales (base + salary) because I thrive on being a people person, and I love to think creatively, but is that ereally a career?

    thanks!

      Re: Who loves their job?

I don't love my job, but I don't not want to go every day like I've felt with other jobs I've held. Basically, it's a good job because I don't think love is a word you can associate with work. Well, most of the time.

Unfortunately, they don't believe in pay raises. Which will drive me away from the company in the coming months. It's been a great opportunity and I work with great people, but our hard work in adverse conditions just is not recognized by upper management. The only way I can improve my pay rate is to move up to a management position, and knowing how ****ty the company is (the pay rate isn't that much better then what I can get elsewhere, with better hours too), it's not compelling enough. I do plan on leaving on good terms and if my new job doesn't work out well, I'll likely come back to take that management position. I'm a bit sad I'll be leaving the crew but I've gotta do what I gotta do.
