Yeah it's kind of sad that they're playing politics with this.

And as for those calling for more punishment like death or torture etc that does nothing. This dude is clearly mentally ill and you can't beat sanity into someone. There really isn't a point.

I'm not trying to argue semantics, but he's not mentally ill, he's mentally deficient. He is deficient in that he doesn't have the remorse and observing ego that would keep most people from committing crimes that inflict damage or death upon another person. This deficiency is found in 100% of people who have anti-social personality disorder. The best scientific method of treatment for his deficiency is exactly what he is receiving, time in prison. There is no medication or psychotherapy that can fill in the gap that he needs. The best case scenario for him is to keep him locked up and isolated so he can't harm any other members of society. He is truly incapable of pure emotions. I have absolutely no idea why anyone thought he could have been "rehabilitated", but they don't deserve their job anymore.

Absolutely, you can make someone in prison's time harder. Shut off the damn tv. They give prisoners perks like TV just for crowd control- so that they CAN be taken away as punishment.

Why you would ever one guard with one prisoner, or why the control room wasn't watching all this unfold on video is beyond me. Who guards a prisoner alone and unarmed? There needs to be rules against that.

Prison is expensive, it's the fastest growing job industry. There's a commentary about society there.

I work in the prison system. It doesn't work that way anymore.

"The hole" is LONG gone. I wish it wasn't.

Not true in Maryland and Va. The hole is very much alive in this area.

It's a definite possibility. Maybe not, though.

No one really knows yet what he'll be charged with. Initially, it's looking like murder in the second, but that could change.

We'll see.
