    Re: OS Cars Thread

    Thanks, guys.

A couple of firsts today. We were driving around town and a couple of kids in a modded white BMW were snapping pictures with a camera and a gopro on a stick they had hanging out of the sunroof. It was kind of weird, but also kind of cool.

Later on I had an almost mirror image pull up beside me at a stop light; 2015+ black WRX limited. He had STI badges, but no wing. We exchanged pleasantries.

Riding up on 100,000 miles on my 2008 Audi A4... Looking to purchase a new car and was deciding on a used 2013 Audi S4 or a brand new 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee... Not particularly set on either one of them though, might even looking into the BMW 3 series or X5 in diesel. Any thoughts?

How's the A4 riding at 100k? I'm sure it can go another 100k without a problem.

I was gonna ask the same thing. Isn't that the the model / year that had the major oil burn problem starting around 60k miles?

As for the original question, I think the new Cherokee's look sweet. Havent been in one to see the ride though.

It runs well right now, but I have to change the timing belt soon and I can already feel the brake pads needing to be changed soon as well. It rides well for a 90K car though, and a lot of that is highway mileage that I've put on in a matter of 1.5 years (my second job has me driving up to 2-3,000 miles a month). I'm also deciding on moving to NYC next year though so I was thinking of holding off on buying a newer car, but if I were to move to NYC and keep my car, I feel like an S4 would be more worth it since it's smaller and easier to find parking for.

I have to put a pint of oil in every 1.5-2,000 miles and normally have my oil changed every 5-6,000.

I ordered some winter Pirellis from Tire Rack and had them mounted this weekend along with an oil change since. She only has 2000 miles on her, but I figured since she's broken in now to just go ahead and get some fresh, clean oil in her.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a waterless car wash? I want to wash my car, but don't want to freeze my hand off in the process.

Find you a hand car wash place.

Replaced our X3 with a 430i Gran Coupe. I'll take better pics later in week.

Drives really nice. Most importantly the wife likes it.

This is my new ride! What is really cool about it is that after I had finished all the paperwork, the GM of the dealership came over and said "Hey Bryan you are really into Baseball right? Well I just thought you would like to know this was Wayne Gomes' Fj. He just traded it in a few weeks ago."

How cool is that, me of all people, to end up with a used vehicle owned by an ex baseball player? Just kind of a neat thing to happen.
