Any ideas for midsize SUVs or sporty Crossovers within my price range?
ABSOLUTELY NO MINIVANS!! Lol. But otherwise I'm open to ideas.

I made the mistake of stopping at our local GM dealership and looking at a 14 Acadia with her. It was everything she wanted, fully loaded, and just under $50grand!! (sticker price, it was a Sunday) Nowhere close to what kind of note I can float. Lol

    What do you guys think?

If you pay anything near 50 grand for a car like that kill yourself. Bought wife BMW X3 with a ton of options for slightly more than that. BMW has it beat 6 ways to Sunday and is just a a better made car.

Also. Please don't buy an Acadia for 50 grand or kill yourself. Fit and finish on GMs are awful can't believe anyone would pay that kind of money for those.

Haha. Strong observation. Unless something drastic in my life changes, i wont be spending 50 on any car ever. Lol. The sticker was like $48,954 and I immediately ran.

And I'm very partial to Domestics, especially GM products. I'm also very aware of the fit, finish and materials issues that have plagued them going back 30yrs. And after looking at my buddies 13 or 14 F150 and loving the interior I'm willing to look elsewhere this time. Just need legit suggestions and reviews.

That 8 to 10 grand price range is tough.

        Jalopnik had this..

It is not even technically winter yet, but states like Texas have experiencing record cold temps, and I would not want to live in Buffalo, NY. Now is the time to start shopping for a winter beater and last week I asked you to find the best AWD/4WD for under ten grand; here are the the top ten.

Actually if you search Jalopnik, they've got a lot of best cars under 10 grand categories.

I found a really good deal on a Buick Rendezvous. Old guy owned, lol, so it was super clean with low miles. Test drove it last night and after i sign paperwork with the bank today I'll be going back to get it tonight.

He said his wife was making him sell it and he didnt want to. He was a funny old retired guy. Poor guy was an LSU fan though. Lol. Hotty Toddy! !

I got burned on my last car. 3 days after i bought it the motor came apart. Spun bearings. Completely screwed. Put a crank kit in it and a ton of other parts to boot (new intake, ac compressor, etc) and then sold it for a fraction of what I had in it.

So i was dead set on finding a good one this go round. I feel like i did a lot of research and with a bit of luck I've found the perfect ride for my wife/family. It was immaculate. Perfect leather. Everything works. It needs an oil change, which it will get with some Mobil 1 asap.

What's your take on the fit and finish on it?
Been away for awhile, so far its been good minus 2 things. A wind whistle on the driver window but the passenger never had it it so it was a seal issue. The driver chair had a squeak over bumps but tightening some things up fixed it.

Rides really nice, doesn't feel claustrophobic like some cars can feel. Niece and her car-seat fit well in the back too. Grown adults are comfortable as well in the back even with my driver seat position being further back.

Before I forget, I do wish the driver seat was a bit deeper or the sides taller for a more bucket seat feel. I've done a few long road trips in the car and my bad hip doesn't ache like does in some other cars.

Leather holds up well, the embroidery I really like as well on the dash. Wood finish is really nice to the touch. I wish the 2015 model kept the wood on the steering wheel. Aluminum grey finish can be a bit bright when you have the panorama roof open. My favorite is the night time ambient lighting, soft white from under the trim.

As a single guy, it gets a good amount of head turns from the women

**Water pump failed early on but was replaced. I think it was $500 if I had to pay for it. Not too bad considering a friend just had to pay $1200 for a different brand's replacement

All i know, is Cadillac really knocked their new body design out of the park. I've never been all that interest in getting a Cadillac but after seeing the most recent models, I'm strongly considering leasing one.

                        Beautiful car.

Got a new ride yesterday, Nissan 350z. So long to the Mustang. It was actually my dad's, he's been wanting to sell it for awhile because it's a 2 seater and he can't fit his GF and son in there. Well he called me Friday and offered me a deal on it because he knew how much I loved the car lol. Basically I gave him my Mustang, which he'll probably just sell, and I'm going to pay him monthly for the rest.

Awesome car though. My first Nissan. Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with it. 11 year old car and there is not a button in the car that doesn't work. It runs perfect too.

Really miss having a car. Since I live in a remote island with a lot of rough roads, looking into a Fiji or a toyota truck called a Helix here (basically a tacoma). Would love to have a Jeep Wrangler but I don't think its a good idea since there isn't a dealership on the island.

BTW, mrpotatohead5, love the STI! I had one back in the states and miss it like crazy.
