Why is self defense even being brought up? This was a school yard scrap, plain and simple. No damage done other than a lesson being taught. What kind of sensitive moms are running the show down there?

It all started when I say if he landed on his head from the slam. I said he would probably be charged, then it went all down hill from there.

I see. Well didnt the bully's mom say he got what he deserved? Its probably gonna take outside influence to get her to take it to the courts. I doubt it goes there. It rarely ever does. Usually sensitive mom and dads that go to court when their demon child gets the business from an innocent kid.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a lot of real gang members in my classroom. Always makes it interesting, it is also amazing how much they hate each other because of where they live and/or what color they wear. Really sad, but it is what it is.

If self-defense isn't a crime, why was Casey suspended for his actions?

I'm not saying I think it's a crime, I'm saying I don't think what he did would be purely seen as "self-defense." He had him up in the air, I'm sure the kid would've begged for mercy then and there had he had the chance. Just like a robber who has a gun pointed at him, if he put the computer down and accepted being caught, shooting him is no longer just "self-defense."

If Casey started stomping the bully after he was down, then it would cross the line of self-defense.

What Casey did was use enough force to ensure the attacker was no longer able to attack him. That's called self-defense.

I believe it said in the Casey interview video that the school has a zero tolerance against violence. Therefor he was suspended for retaliating.

Sorry but Casey did EXACTLY what needed to be done and honestly he probably STILL hasn't done enough. As a kid I've seen bullies get caught off guard and beg to get out or demand to get out of a hold or whatever, when the poor kid getting bullied gives up his upper hand guess what, the bully continues messing with the kid. Only time I've seen bullies stop is when they get TOTALLY embarrassed or injured.

One thing I hate is bullies. I was never bullied growing up but I used to see what they did to other kids and it used to really tick me off. But I used to also get ticked off with the kids getting picked on. Most of the time they were bigger than the other kids. I would tell them in front of the bullies "man just beat his bleep". I wouldn't fight their fight because that's their fight. They have to take care of that. But I sure would try like hell to get the bullies to fight me because the first thing they would say is "Oh you with them" and I say "Yeah, wanna meet after school?". I used to like to fight ALOT back in the school days lol, but I would NEVER start a fight. But I could only get 2 fights a year. One thing kids need to learn, most bullies wont fight you if it looks like you WANT to fight. Number one reason is because they couldn't stand the chance that they could possibly LOSE and look like complete idiots in school. Like this little kid. All his credibility is gone now.

Re: Bullied kid snaps, hulk smashes some little prick.

Honestly, I didn't even know bullies really existed. I thought they were just an exaggerated clique formed in Hollywood to subliminally convey a moral inspirational story through mental stability, blah blah blah. I know if a single punch was thrown at any one of my schools (K-12), a faculty member would know about it within five minutes tops. Things like that aren't disclosed very easily. Then again, I also didn't ever have cafeterias either where a potential food fight could ensue. Again, I thought this kind of thing only existed in movies.

This is a scrawny twelve year old kid, I think words could only hurt this man. Those kinds of bullies always exist. I don't get why he thought he could punch such a massive man, especially when he's three grades older than him (at about the age gap that probably has the biggest physical spike for men).

I guess I'm just hoping he can remain the kid he always was, just picked on less.

There are definitely bullies. I was picked on a bit when I was in 1st or 2nd grade....my brother came and scared the **** out of them and I wasn't ****ed with again.

Then in 8th grade, I was at the height of my fatness (13 years old, 205lb) and I used to get teased, especially while changing in the locker room...so one day some dude called me out and I blew up verbally on him. I don't think I did anything physical.

Yeah, there is such thing as a bully. I never got the WORST of it, but then again I was always the biggest one in the class and no one wanted to mess with me. But I witnessed some HARSH crap back in middle school and high school
