For all we know the big kid punches like a girl so he decided to slam the skinny kid. He probably felt like he was too slow to throw hands an would keep getting hit so he did something that would end it, he slammed the kid. If the skinny kid got seriously hurt well that's what he deserves.

I agree with your sentiments, even though I personally don't think his actions were too over-the-top for the situation. However, these are children and to ask a child to be able to restrain himself in a situation like that is probably next to impossible. There are some adults who can't even do that.

True, I guess working where I work and seeing kids 14 and younger doing heavier crimes now probably has something to do with it. I spoke enough though. I don't want to derail this thread anymore guys. Sorry.

The whole - "be the bigger man and walk away" thing doesn't work these days. It will continue, and the kid will continue to internalize everything and something worse will happen. Suicide, mental breakdown, or the kid snapping and hurting a lot more than just the bully.

Also, the idea that maybe he should've only punched him wouldn't have worked either. You take one swing and, unless you knock the kid out for an extended period of time, he gets back up and is pissed off, and then the next time he sees you he AND his friends are going to find something to do. To get a bully to stop a physical confrontation in the future, you need to show him that continuing to taunt you will end in pain for him. The bodyslam worked perfectly - I promise you not a single person, that kid or his friends or anyone else at that school that thinks it's cool, will bully that kid again.

Bravo, kid. I hope I would've done the same thing and I hope any son of my mine would do the same thing if he was bullied constantly.

The mom of the kid who got slammed even said her son deserved what he got, she does think the attention the video has gotten is unwarranted tho because her son has received a ton of hate for it.

I have a kid with me right now that stab another student at school. The other kid was picking on him and yet because he stab him he has an attempted murder charge. I said if that kid leading on his head and almost killed that kid I pretty sure he would get a charge like that. How is that for lol?

Well you'd have to explain the whole situation. But if that kid brought a knife to school thinking, today's the day, if he picks on me, I'm stabbing him, then yes attempted murder. By picjking on, I am not talking about being struck in the face and put in physical danger.

If they were in the lunch line, and the other kid started hitting him and he grabbed a knife(not that they probably have steak knives in school) to defend himself. Self defense. Even if he pulled a knife from his backpack or pocket after he was assaulted, you could make a strong case for self defense.

What the big kid did in the video was self defense. He incapacitated his attacker with 1 move and walked away. If he would have curb stomped him after the slam, then maybe some charges would come, but he did one act and then walked away. Just like if he had punched the aggressor and the aggressor hit his head on the concrete and died from the 1 punch, still self defense.
