maybe I'am biased, but UNC and Duke have both used black unis before state. Its a repeating pattern, Very few things that look good for state, haven't been done by Duke or UNC. Just sayin

NC State has been wearing black for a while now. To my knowledge, last season was the first time UNC went with black right? As for Duke, I like the black basketball unis, but I don't think it works for the football team.

This isn't breaking ground for state. They had black basketball unis in the mid 90s.

Black is also an official school color.

So I'm not sure what you are "just sayin".

For the record, I like these all things considered (Adidas). The red really pops and the helmet is tacky enough to be alright for a one-off.

The pattern on the black part of the helmet is so strange. I can't decide if I like it or not.

The basic design of the helmet reminds me of the one that Syracuse wore last year for a couple games

I really dig the orange helmet, but I'm not a big fan of the numbers on the jersey. Apparently the stripes within the numbers are at a 44 degree angle or something like that as an homage to the #44. I get paying respect to #44, but literally nobody is going to look at the numbers and be like, "Gee, is that a 44 degree angle or just 45?"

See, i love the little sublties like that in uniforms. I think the players like it too. UW has the dog sled formation stitched into the collar, Team USA hockey had 2 gold circles on the back celebrating the 2 gold medal teams, the Lightning bolt on Tampa's pants is outlined in black to honor the black jerseys of the past. Might be just me, but those are often my favorite part about uniforms.

I'd like it more if you could physically see a 44 somewhere on the jersey or something. Using the #44 as a small detail. But making lines at a 44 degree angle? I don't know, just seems like a waste of time on the jersey IMO.

For example, I really liked how when Nike designed the Seahawks jerseys, they used a feather texture for the numbers: "One significant design element of the new Seahawks jerseys is the feather pattern that shows up in many places. If they could have used the #44 to do something like that, that would be cool. But simply making a line 1 degree off from 45 degrees just seems like a stretch.

I do appreciate when they make an effort to make subtle additions that have real meaning. Just don't think that one was done well.

Don't like the new SU jerseys, remind of those ugly uniforms they had a few years back that were just orange and navy with no white trim. Those 2 colors clash too much, should've kept the white numbers or at least put white trip around the numbers.
